The last thing you want to do is to discourage them further by making their shooting or hunting an unpleasant experience. I am fortunate in that I have a large number of friends and acquaintances whose children also shoot. I will never forget the first shotgun I ever fired. Having a young son rapidly approaching that age, I am certainly eagerly awaiting the day he asks for his opportunity to go afield. To that end, I am sure a beginner’s guide to hunting could be of value to neophyte and veteran hunters mentoring new hunters alike.

Unfortunately for many of us ladies, the apparel options are still limited. Because of the lack of actually CCW apparel for women it has forced us to focus on our “methods” for carrying rather than actual garments. Typically, we ladies get discouraged and end up using a clunky holster and then disguising our bodies with layered looks, jackets or fuller tops. But there are some practical options now available for women.

Even though the U.S. Coast Guard requires a life jacket for everyone on board a boat, 88 percent of those who drowned in 2010 from a boating accident were not wearing a life jacket. All boats require safety equipment. Different boats and locations require different safety preparations. However, basic boating safety is universal.
