The AK-47 and AK-74 systems are engineering marvels in their ability to function in any environment, yet today they can seem dated — particularly the wood stock and furniture. Back in 1947 and even in 1974, a wood stock was an accepted standard in a military rifle. Today, synthetic stocks and handgrips offer better durability, easy customization, and more shooting comfort. Here’s a list of replacement stocks and furniture that can up your AK’s game…

ATI Folding Strikeforce Stock

ATI’s Strikeforce Stock with Scorpion Recoil System is a complete furniture makeover for your Avtomat Kalashnikova.

It fits most stamped AK-47 receivers and is constructed of glass-reinforced polymer. Made in the USA. For more info, go to atigunstocks.com or call (800) 925-2522. Shop Now!

Slide Fire Solutions SSAK-47 Stock

Slide Fire SSAK-47 XRS Stock

The Slide Fire SSAK-47 stock is easy and simple to install on most AK-47 rifles with stamped receivers.

You will need plenty of ammo with the Slide Fire SSAK-47 stock, since it allows shooters to safely fire rounds fast. The system works this way: Place the stock in your shoulder pocket and pull it in tight with your shooting hand, then with your non-shooting hand, push forward on the handguard. This movement causes the trigger to collide with your trigger finger and fire the weapon. The recoil from the fired round allows the trigger to be reset. The stock is easy and simple to install on most AK-47 rifles with stamped receivers. Available in black and natural oak or red oak. You should include the Tapco Fusion hand guard on your list. The aluminum heat shield really cuts down on the transfer of the heat generated during even short shooting sessions. It comes with a rail on the bottom as well as a very good rail cover that latches in place. It really made my Wasr II enjoyable to shoot. Before I added it, Using the stock wooden hand guards, I almost burnt my fingers after one magazine.

Have a yugo m70 b1 ak ordered a tapco six position stock from cheaper than dirt it wouldn’t work my synthetic original stock has a flat surface and a pretty long bolt that goes to a nut made onto the back of gun. I did however go with the utg hand guards quad rail all alluminum constructed and the utg light laser combo and utg front grip go the squeeze pads for light and laser really looks good and alluminum constructed it actually serves more than just cosmetic issue it really does help with heat distribution I’m intrested in changing the stock collapsible is what I prefer any ideas or I’ve considered folding as well I kinda like the one that fold under rather than to the side. If anyone’s familiar with that yugo m70 b1 ak with grenade gas block on a good affordable stock thanks

The Chinese made Norenco MAK-90 Sporter has a terrible thumbhole wood stock and the stamped receiver is angle cut which limited my choice to two stocks. The first option I considered was the wood furniture from Ironwood for about $160.00 and puts you into 922r compliance issues. This was more than I wanted to pay and I wanted a more modern/tactical look so I purchased the ATI Fiberforce Stock and Grips. The stock was a well made Draganov style that was easy to install by drilling one hole into the stock for the tang screw and screwing the shorter supplied bolt thru the handgrip into the existing angle nut. The forend hand grips were cheap and poorly designed so I did not use them (the kit was $60.00). I then ordered the Hogue Overmolded forend grips ($30.00) which fit good, feels good, and looks great.
