AR Live-Fire Technique: Determining Close-In Offset with Your Red Dot

Adam Painchaud, director of the SIG SAUER Academy in New Hampshire, demonstrates exactly how much your red dot’s point of aim and a bullet’s point of impact can vary at close-quarters distance.

Hint: Assuming a 50-yard zero, the vertical distance between the sightline of your red dot and the barrel’s bore determines how low your AR will shoot at three yards.
