If you though the anti-gunners were beat with election of President Trump and one or two nominations to the Supreme Court, think again. The Washington Post has reported that anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety “plans to spend $8 to $10 million in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and New Mexico” to influence the midterm elections, via its “Action Fund.” And that is not the full extent of expenditures by the gun prohibition group’s fund, either.

Two years ago, California State Senator Leland Yee told CBS: “It is extremely important that individuals in the state of California do not own assault weapons. I mean that is just so crystal clear—there is no debate, no discussion.” As a legislator, Yee supported strict gun control laws and was even named to the Brady Campaign’s Gun Violence Prevention Honor Roll. Last Wednesday, Yee received a five-year prison sentence for accepting bribes and trafficking in illegal arms. Is anyone still wondering how gun control legislation gets passed?
Just because it is the holidays, does not mean we can let our guard down. In fact, traveling to areas you are not as familiar with, crowded shopping malls, or on significant holidays all raise the threat from the everyday criminal as well as the lone wolf attacker. As a result, sadly, we need to be more vigilant and ready to take responsibility for our own safety more than ever. However, crossing state lines could land you an invite for Christmas dinner in the pokey. Here’s a list of the top five states to avoid while carrying with firearms, along with a handful of (dis)honorable mentions.
It’s comforting to know that California’s law-abiding gun owners will continue to be put under a magnifying glass to satisfy a political agenda that demonizes them while not accomplishing any true measure of safety. Meanwhile, criminals who openly victimize the Golden State’s citizens won’t have to worry about carrying that gun to commit their crimes. Gov. Brown says they no longer have to do the added time.
“My case is up for review sometime between February and April,” says Mr. Nichols, “This ruling will have a major affect on gun rights for the United States of America.”
From the moment the recent tragedy in Las Vegas hit the news, we knew we would have to brace for shock and wait for the fallout. Several states have bills pending. There will be the usual sabre rattling from the normal characters, of course. The question that matters most is, “How do they purpose to infringe on the Second Amendment this time?” We have the answers.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals is often in the news, but seldom on the side of the Second Amendment as gun owners see it. The Shooter’s Log has followed this closely as the court has ruled for and against Californians’ in their quest to defend themselves under the Second Amendment. Unfortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court announced today it would not grant review in the Peruta v. California case.
It sounds like the punchline to bad joke, “So, a guy is concealed carrying a handgun while filling out paperwork to buy another handgun, but he is in California, so he has to wait 10 days to pick it up—to give him time to “cool off” (guard against impulsive acts of violence). Unfortunately, that is not a joke. It is the logic of the gun control crowd… and a recent court ruling.
