February 23 — 10 Top .223 Remington Posts!

February 23 is .223 day! Who doesn’t love a day honoring one of America’s favorite calibers most often fired from the AR-15—one of America’s favorite rifles? In truth, we do not have to wait for 2/23, we can celebrate it any day of the year by emptying a few magazines by sending rounds down range. However, in honor of .223 day we first want to thank our men and women in uniform serving our country, veterans, first responders, and law enforcement officers who run toward danger when we get run from it. With that done, we hope you will enjoy a little down time with a few of our favorite .223-themed posts from the past.

Federal American Eagle Introduces Varmint & Predator Ammunition Bulk Packs

American Eagle and varmints spell on fun day any way you look at it. Well, unless you are the varmint I suppose… Varmint hunters like to shoot, but accuracy matters. Seldom will a song dog wait around to see if your accuracy improves, but a target at the range will. That’s why successful varmint hunters spend plenty of time punching paper too. Fortunately, with American Eagle’s new bulk ammunition packs, it just got a little easier to practice and sight in at the range with the same ammo you’ll be using in the field.

The object we examine may give a good first impression, but its properties are the determining factor in any further purchases—and Gorilla brings plenty of performance. Gorilla Ammunition’s loads have favorably impressed me with good quality control, excellent cartridge integrity and accuracy.

.223 Remington Load Selections — Picking the Best .223 Load for the Task

The 5.56mm/.223 Remington is America’s cartridge just as the AR-15 rifle is America’s rifle. The rifle is used for recreational shooting, competition, varmint hunting, medium-sized game hunting, and personal defense. In fact, the same rifle will handle all of these chores—given a skilled shooter. While the rifle is versatile and may fill each role well, no single loading will serve in every pursuit. Which load do you need?
