It’s gratifying to see how conscientious the huge majority of carry permit holders are, and how seriously they take their responsibilities. Despite what the mainstream media would have you believe, these folks are not just numerous—now somewhere north of 14 million nationwide—but also astonishingly law-abiding—6 to 10 times more so than law enforcement, who are in turn 30 times more law-abiding than the general public. However, they are plagued by a few common problems.

TruGlo added an integrated laser to the Tru Tec to create a winning combination. Then, by pricing the combination under $250 it created a story worth reading—even if you’ve been burned by budget optics before.
I first saw the Swab-Its at the 2015 SHOT Show and simply didn’t get the concept of them—hmm… disposable foam bore cleaners. Yeah, the concept was cool. However, I wondered why anyone would buy such an expensive single-use product. Like many times in life, I was wrong. I learned my lesson, even though it took me a full year. When selecting a compact reflex sight, there are a few must have features: low profile so you can co-witness the iron sights, lightweight, and fast, close-quarter acquisition to shoot with both eyes open. Most of all, it needs to have premium-grade glass with a well-protected lens that provides a virtually parallax-free sight picture. The MeoRed brings all of this and so much more.
At a cursory glance, Henry’s Pump Octagon looks very much like old gallery guns—such as the 1890 and 1906 series that Winchester once produced. The overlooked Henry Pump Action Octagon may not be as romantic as the lever gun of Western lore; but it is a well made send-off to the gallery guns of the county carnival era and just as formidable of a rimfire platform now as it was then.
I have been using Serpa holsters since at least 2006. Back then, I had put together a training consortium and created the “727 Counter Terror Training Unit.” BLACKHAWK!’s gear, especially the Serpa holster, proved its durability and reliability time and again making it one of the most popular pieces of gear. Today’s Serpa fills a range of duty and civilian uses. Find out if it is right for you.
Following the law, or thinking you are following the law, is not always enough to keep you from being adjudicated by the law. We are all innocent until proven guilty, but that does not mean you won’t go broke in the process of defending yourself in court. Check out these five reasons innocent or well-meaning gun owners go to jail and how to avoid them.
