  1. Kinda surprised you didn’t mention the Mossberg Shockwave. I have a small house with 30″ doorways, and I bought a 20 gauge Shockwave for under $400. It’s a little more expensive than those you mentioned, but it’s very maneuverable in tight spaces. It’s not technically a “shotgun”, but it’s worthy of consideration.

  2. No pricing?? Not even MSRP?? Seem to kinda defeat the purpose of the article. And where is the range report for these platforms? A least a summary! Cost may be the primary factor to some but even a novice will want to know how well it functions. In this day an age where the click of a button will give you a list of end user views and ratings one is remiss in not providing a price break and some degree of function reports. If you
donÔÇÖt, then itÔÇÖs just a poor attempt at advertisement and serves no one well.
With no comparison pricing to go by how does one know from this artical what is the least expensive and how it compairs to others in the group and to say Mossberg or Remington offerings?
This artical isnÔÇÖt up to your usual standard of information we have come to expect from your writing Dave. Seems like a fast filler artical or an edited an redacted submission by whoever is editing for CTD to fit there sales agenda.
Quite sure that at least several of these platforms are exceptable in cost and function for home defense or more …. but from this? How would we know?

  3. Lots of basic info, but lacking the prices. Would be great if that were added to this blog post.

Maybe pros and cons of pump vs semi auto as well.

  4. For the price of these budget shotguns new you could purchase a used or police surplus Rem 870 or Ithaca model 37. Better a used quality shotgun than a new budget gun.

  5. I’ve got my Remington 870 12ga at the ready. You do not want to be on the wrong end of that thing when loaded with buckshot.

  6. OK enough comparison… I reckon. The word “Budget” being in the title one expects to see a price range included in the writing. Not click to compares. Do a better job researching and writing next time.

  7. I’m sort of curious as to why the CTD’s Standard Manufacturing SKO Shorty Box Feed 12-gauge Shotgun isn’t on the list! I mean it lists for ~$599.99…
