AR-15 Stripped Lower
If you do not like the options a manufacturer chose, why not build your own? Custom ARs are still very popular, but you’ll want to ensure you are selecting the right parts to create a purpose-built shooter and not something that looks like it was thrown together from scavenged parts. Therefore, you’ll want to plan your build. If your budget is a concern, buy your parts a piece at a time, so you can get the best quality accessories and end up with a rifle you’ll trust and be proud to show off.
Note: Given all of the current pending legislation and attacks on the Second Amendment, having a handful of stripped AR lowers is a great investment and a way to cheaply get an AR through NICS at a minimal cost—just in case there is a ban or temporary stoppage of sales by your state. Prices for polymer lowers start at under $50. The aluminum model is typically about twice that, but watch for the specials and deals and stock. I often have three or four stripped lowers in the safe, just waiting for a new project!
In fact, the British tried to impose gun control on the colonists because the colonists were acquiring and keeping field artillery at home. In this respect the British crown was less paranoid about the colonists than our current power establishment is about U.S. citizens – it wants to ban possession of rifles and hand guns. Serious military weapons such as shoulder launched missiles and machine guns have long been banned. It should be obvious that all “gun control” regulation is aimed at the citizenry because the vast majority of the rules don’t address the causes of the problems they are supposed to address. The “problems” such as school shootings which are actually one of the most rare causes of student deaths at school are just pretexts for what the establishment really has in mind. Notice that they don’t propose to restrict automobile ownership or alcohol availability in a meaningful way even though they are instrumental in far more deaths in our country than guns. If they do decide they want to more restrict citizens’ freedom of travel and ability control mood through alcohol, perhaps in deference to the pharmaceutical industry, you will see them organize protests pushing for “car control” and “booz control” and they will attack the auto companies and AAA as murderers.
These are all fine rifles but for asking price I’ll pass. I can build a similar rifle for $600 bucks, give or take, depending on the trigger. I’ll stick with my 20″ Bull Barrel for distance. Plenty accurate for me. For CQB I have plenty of shorty’s!
While the excuse is about gun control, it is actually bigger than that. This nation is founded upon BIBLICAL principals. Since the mid 70’s they have sought to ban GOD from everything: schools, government workplaces etc. Now the truth is coming to roust. You can’t legislate morality. Kids see murder every min. they are on the video games, the tv, the movies etc. Without the truth of righteousness there is little to make them realize that these things are wrong and they have consequences. Gun control comes as a stop gap to the crime the legislators have done to us, to America, to the LORD. I took an oath to defend this nation and the constitution from ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. Right now it appears that the domestic (our own politicians) are the issue. If they want to go unarmed then by all means do so but don’t try to tell me that I can’t. Anyone who does try to disarm the public is no better than Obama bin Ladin–pun intended, and should be dealt with as such. GOD bless America
Although this apparently is NOT taught in schools, our nation is one of only two nations in the world that is founded upon Judeo/Christian principals. Every able man and woman has a GOD given right and obligation to defend oneself, loved ones, friends, neighbors and the innocent man on the street. The LORD HIMSELF said if you have no sword (the assault weapon at the time) then sell you’re outer garments and buy one. There is no higher authority. What’s more this right and obligation is guaranteed and mandated in the constitution (amendments). If people wish to go unarmed, then let them but don’t go telling me to get rid of mine. I took an oath to defend this country and the constitution. I still live this oath. ANYONE who would try to disarm the public, or me, is no better than bin laden and should be treated as such. I fear the day is coming when the tree of liberty will have to be refreshed. GOD bless America.
The gun in the picture you have of the LMT does not have the monolithic rail platform (MRP). Just FYI.
I totally Agree with Force Recon Marine! Semper Fidelis, Brother!
The Constitution does not even say “rifle” or “guns” … it simply says “ARMS”! That means ANY Weapon that can be used to defend oneself Or to defend our Freedom! We can be ‘armed’ with my bare hands, a table lamp…or Nuclear Arms…or whatever ‘Arms’ that the future might hold!
As FRM says, we have already been “Handicapped” in Hundreds of ways, so that “The People” will be ‘bringing a knife to a Gun Fight’ so to speak.
Fighter Aircraft, Tanks, Field Guns, Smart Bombs and Guided Missiles, Infrared equipment to ‘see’ thru our walls, and so on and so on…
Our only ‘Real’ defense will be if the American Soldiers and Marines refuse to fire on other Citizens… But, since we are now accepting NON-Citizens into our Military, they will likely be willing to do so…as well as bringing in UN Forces…
And we can be CERTAIN that the NICS Records are already a Database of every firearm and ammo purchase that Law-Abiding Citizens have purchased! Otherwise, WHY would we need a Separate application for Each Weapon we purchase at the Same Time..? If my ‘background’ is clear on that day, and the weapons will be purchased at the same time, why run separate B/C’s..? If I am driving from GA to Maryland, how does a Virginia State Trooper ‘know’ to pull me over and check to see if I am illegally carrying my AR rifle or .45 Semi-Auto Pistol with more than 7 round magazines..?
I’m wondering why Aero Precision never seems to make your lists. The m4e1 is my personal favorite rifle. The rail system is second to none and I would put mine up against anything on your list. I have bought and built dozens of ar15s and in the end it’s tops. Don’t waste money on a BCM or DD rifle. Let’s face the fact that most people who buy them only do to say they have one. I mean really a DPMS on a top ten list is a joke in my opinion. I would like to see an actual side by side shooting comparison before a top 10 list is made. Heck my home build could outshoot or be on par with anything on that list.

Kudos! Excellent article! I couldn’t have said it any better
The arrogance of the banners and grabbers continues to grow. They don’t need or want logic or facts, and just use the complacency of the masses. They have real political (corruption) power and that is very difficult to overcome. I’m not sure if they think they can really take all of our guns away, or just hope to scare, bully and intimidate law abiding citizens to not push back until it’s too late. I’m definitely pro states rights, but that is where they are already successfully testing the limits of restriction and confiscation. We may have passed the point of no return, but for now:
If you haven’t selected a modern sporting rifle, get one. Get comfortable shooting and maintaining it.
Share your passion for shooting with those you trust. Explain why it is so important to honor and respect our Constitution, especially the Second Amendment.
And God bless America.
Are the stripped AR 15 lowers 80% or complete
Complete. ~Dave Dolbee
I am a huge fan of Aero Precision and shocked they did not make the list. Prices are reasonable and their product is very well made.
Personally, I believe the best personal defense aid is equitable or superior to whatever may be used against me, you, or us. Any free thinking patriot should ponder why our own government wants to disarm us. It is not for OUR protection as they claim it is for their protection from us as they conspire to enslave us. At the time 2nd amendment was ratified it was to ensure the public would be equipped to fight against tyranny of a government and or army (British generally at that time) to ensure the greedy whims of the monarchy would have no power in the new world. Today we need to not only protect ourselves from our own government but from those our government refuses to protect us from. Our own government seeks to remove our basic and God given right to self protection so it can import those who would do us harm in the name of their god. The purpose of the 2nd amendment was to ensure the wealthy (government) didn’t tyrannize and take advantage of the poor to the point of war or revolution in which you-know-who loses and remains or becomes enslaved. It’s only a matter of time before history repeats itself in this young nation as it did so many times “across the pond”, and the framers knew this. Time has passed since the Bill of Rights was written and monopolies are growing. They didn’t acquire their wealth through philanthropy; they are definitely out to get you and that’s not paranoia, it’s just a simple fact of life. Now, lobby groups generally promote interests of the 1% whom basically own the government in a progressively increasing and obvious way. The question is, “When the government officials rely on corporations for their career’s stability, and that when these corporations decide they’re capable and ready to enslave the masses [including those government officials], will you/me/we have the personal defense aids necessary to defend our freedom in this modern technological age, or will you/me/we be stuck with rusty armor?” We go back to the simple question of “What part of “shall not be infringed” do they not understand”. Any firearms restriction law written since 1791 is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! We live in indolent/lazy times with apathetic morons who vote only for what’s best for themselves . What can someone else do for me? (BTW this is not meant to be a question I say this because it’s what most of the people ask) Why do we need or even want for someone else to tell the American People what we can and cannot have? Our Country allows freedom of speech but only when they agree with what we’ve said. Our country was founded on the belief in God and ownership of firearms to insure OUR freedoms. I’m ashamed of the direction our Country is going in. Obviously our Politicians are incapable of or care to think of their/our children or grandchildren! If we/they disarm Law Abiding Citizens we will at one point in time all become slaves of those who swore to protect us from U.S. government terrorists. I see a second Civil War occurring if they try and disarm the Law Abiding Citizenry for they will have a fight on their hands. Nikita Khrushchev once said America will destroy itself from the inside out….and here we go. We should not depend on our government so much that we can’t think for ourselves. Fasten your seatbelts we are in for the ride of our lives!!! To all my fellow American Patriots, but especially to those ZOMBIES who are walking around in a daze while the political elite trample our rights, remember your heritage! Remember your rights, the ones that so much blood has been shed to protect! Remember your spirit, your independence, your self-reliance! It is time for us, the citizenry, to recall our purpose to heart. Don’t just sit there! DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These current gun grabbers are only concerned about weapons that pose a threat to the establishment of a government that is not concerned with liberty. The Revolutionary War was started not because of taxation, imprisonments, or the people protesting the laws but because the government was moving to take guns, ammunition, powder, and cannons (the most powerful military weapon) away from the people. Virginia did not decide to leave the Union until after Federal troops were sent to capture militia owned cannons, powder, and guns in Fairfax County. Feinstein, Øb☭ma, Soros, etc., are careful to say personal defense and sporting uses are fine they only want to remove dangerous unneeded guns from the people. They have already virtually eliminated automatic weapons, large caliber weapons (shooting someone with a gun over .50 caliber is a war crime), eliminated explosives and explosive devices, prohibited effectively even the cannon that we fought to protect over 200 years ago much less allowing us to have the same weapons the military has like our forefathers did. The world is not made of NERF. There will be bad things that happen that we won’t be able to predict and prevent. Taking the means of self defense away from those of us who are not violent criminals does nothing whatsoever to make any of us safer. Indeed, it only makes the world safe for corrupt and despotic rulers who don’t want to suffer the wrath of voters and citizens who finally are unwilling to allow the corruption we see from both parties and try to lawfully correct the system. The ‘need’ for such arms, as the opponents would say, comes from, “What am I defending against?”. If it’s some crack head trying to grab my wife and steal my wallet, a revolver would probably do the trick. But, I as an American I also believe in defending the Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic. I swore a solemn oath to do so and no one has relieved me of carrying out this oath. I hope to never have to go to that extreme, but it’s my right to be prepared to that extent, if I so desire. Some people like to go bowling on Thursday, I like to shoot up old cars with an M2. What’s the big deal? Do I need select fire? Do I need a car with 300 horsepower? A 30 round beer box? I find this hard to believe but I am about to suggest that we need more legislation. Specifically that we require a mental health evaluation for all reps as well as their staff to determine fitness to serve in the government. I realize that may leave us leaderless (I use the term loosely) but that might be a good thing.
I agree with you and also took an oath to uphold the constitution. I also believe that politicians that propose unconstitutional laws should be tried for treason! Seperfi !
Well said. What these young heads full of mush fail to realize that when the 2nd ammendment falls all the rights they think they are entitled to will disappear almost over night.
I would rather die as a free man than live as a slave.
Outstanding Marine! I could not have written better.
Sadly people seem to be sheep today, I prefer to be the wolf. They take care of family and their truf. In the face of any attacker.
Once American’s were all wolf’s and we best become them again before it is to late.
The future will hold watering the tree of liberty if banning takes place.
Just give me a good old controlled feed walnut stocked mauser action sporter. Now that is a real rifle.
Well guys, its like this. I’m sold on Anderson. I’ve got a 10.5 SBR and a Grendel. Both are RF-85 and both are flawless. Built them both on multi-cal. lowers, so if I ever do have a failure they’re interchangeable. The RF-85 is awesome. No oil (a drop now n then on the trigger group). Swish them off with some dawn water, rinse, blow them off. That’s it. They sparkle like new. No solvents, no bull. Shooting ragged holes with both, 5.56 and 6.5. The .223’s are a tad less accurate at distance (125 meters and up) but I only plink with the .223. Anything more serious is always 5.56 or 6.5. I’m sure everyone has had good luck with their AR’s. But I don’t have $700 into both including optics. Haven’t had a lick of trouble, unlike some of my friends. The S&W’s seem to be a bit temperamental. A couple other builds of my friends fail regularly, but I’m sure that’s human error and not the parts. Anyway, y’all have fun and be safe.
