The SHOT Show (Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade) in Las Vegas is enormous to say the least. The show runs for four days. If you wanted to walk the show floor and visit every booth, you would have about eight seconds at each! While we cannot see it all, we spent plenty of time softening the shoe leather to come up with Day 4’s list of cool new products.

Springfield 911 Alpha

The Springfield Armory 911 Alpha features an optimized frame-to-slide-to-trigger guard relationship that creates a uniquely comfortable, intuitive, and accurate shooting experience for a pistol of its size. the crisp, short-reset, 5-pound, polymer trigger ensures a light, yet responsive, pull for reassuring precision, while the loaded chamber indicator provides a visual and tactile indicator of the guns condition. The extended thumb safety encourages easy manipulation of the safety under life-threatening situations where fine motor skills can be compromised under stress. A fiber optic front sight and white, two-dot rear sight allows for quick and clear target acquisition.
To keep the gun invisible until needed, the frame measures 5.5 inches long and less than 4 inches high, with a smooth profile that’s undetectable under clothing. The new 911 Alpha is crafted of 7075 T6 anodized hard-coat aluminum—the same material used in combat-ready firearms like Springfield’s renowned SAINT AR-15 rifles and pistols. Cross Cannon polymer grips and vertical line texturing on the front strap and mainspring housing provide additional traction and a secure hold on the pistol. The 2.7-inch, 416R stainless barrel gives this small gun amazing accuracy at greater than confrontation distance. A full-length guide rod with flat wire spring enhance control and soften recoil. The 911 Alpha is available in Stainless or Black Nitride and ships with a flush 6-round magazine.

Hi-Point ???

Hi-Point will be introducing a new pistol in latter half of 2019. As of the 2019 SHOT Show, it does not actually have an official name yet. The new 9mm high capacity (also new for Hi-Point) compact pistol will have a threaded barrel and many new features. This is not an old model with a few tweaks like the latest version of someone’s 1911. This is an entirely new pistol of a more contemporary design, and yet, it will retain Hi-Point’s affordable pricing, reliability, robust construction, accuracy, and owner following lifetime warranty.
Hi-Point is not a model flipping company and it has been years since Hi-Point’s last new pistol design was unveiled. Hi-Point’s thought process is basically, if it works well and people can afford it, then it works well! However, Hi-Point’s new owner wanted a more contemporary compact high-capacity pistol that is still Hi-Point affordable, robust, reliable and accurate.
This Stealth prototype stage and our media relations firm could not even get an image of it. However, there will be 3D printed models at the 2019 SHOT Show booth 16144 for examination–bring your 3D printed ammo and we will shoot at 3D printed targets, bet someone does that!

Weatherby Unveils the Limited Edition Mark V Wyoming Commemorative Rifle
Even the venerable Weatherby, could not stand in the onslaught of anti gun legislation in California. Last year, at SHOT Show 2018, Weatherby announced its relocation to Wyoming. Both versions will be chambered in the world famous .300 Weatherby Magnum and will feature the widely recognizable “Bucking Horse and Rider” beautifully engraved on the floor plate. Mauser 18 Available in 6.5 PRC

Thanks to its rugged synthetic stock, the Mauser 18 will withstand daily use in even the harshest hunting environments. A three-position safety allows you to safely carry a round in the chamber without fear of the bolt being nudged out of battery. The steel receiver provides core strength and reliability to protect the action, and a cold-hammer-forged barrel gives further peace of mind that the rifle will perform consistently, round after round.
For optimum grip, the stock features two areas of soft-inlay. The five-round magazine enables fast, fuss-free follow-up shots, and an adjustable trigger allows you to set your own preferred pull weight. Clean lines and high-quality materials result in a premium appearance, so that overall, the Mauser 18 has the look and feel of a rifle twice its price.

Umarex Ruger 10/22 Air Rifle
The Ruger 10/22 Air Rifle from UMAREX is true to form except that it is powered by two 12-gram CO2 cartridges instead of the ever-popular .22 LR round. President, Richard Turner, expressed, “The 10/22 has earned its place in shooting history and we couldn’t be more excited that Ruger backed our development of the Ruger 10/22 Air Rifle. Lots of people pulled a trigger for the first time with an airgun and if it wasn’t an air rifle, it was a 22. Very few guns can lay claim to that fact.”

The level of detail in the Ruger 10/22 Air Rifle transcends its looks. “Umarex did a great job in developing the 10/22 Air Rifle,” said Ruger Vice President of Marketing, Rob Werkmeister. “We are truly impressed by the level of authentic detail and craftsmanship incorporated into this airgun, and we are proud to be affiliated with a company that shares our passion of providing quality products and exceptional service for shooters around the world.”
The 10/22 Air Rifle from UMAREX was designed to shoot .177 caliber pellets, the most readily available and most popular selling airgun caliber for recreational shooting. The magazine is authentic in shape and the magazine release pushes forward in authentic fashion giving you the ability to pull the magazine from the receiver. The magazine holds a red, removable rotary clip that accepts 10 flat or round-nosed pellets instead of the traditional .22 LR cartridge and is cleverly held in the magazine by a sliding lever, which allows for the easy exchange of a pre-loaded clip available as an accessory.
