Are You Prepared for Imminent Terrorist Attacks on U.S. Soil?

September is National Preparedness Month, and by now we should all have supplies ready for a hurricane, earthquake, flood, tornado or any other natural disaster that could happen. However, recent news events suggest the biggest threat on the horizon may not be natural at all.Instead, it will be much more sinister and perhaps deadly. The following is a synopsis of news and intelligence reports that suggest we need to prepare for something much worse than Mother Nature. After reading, leave a comment with your thoughts of what people need to do to prepare for the fallout from a terrorist attack.

Medic donning body armor
What type of preparedness do you need? Body armor will not do you much good against a tornado, but spare water and a weather radio will not help against a home invasion.

According to news reports and a handful of independent intelligence sources, credible information has reached Saudi, British and Australian agencies that two al Qaeda branches—IS in Iraq and Syria and al Qaeda AP in Yemen—have finalized plans for coordinated terrorist attacks around the 13th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. According to counterterrorism sources, the groups are preparing to strike simultaneously in the Middle East and a West European city. Next, they will go for U.S. targets either in the Middle East, Europe or here in the states.

Secure Borders?

According to Judicial Watch, high-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued. Judicial Watch reported that Islamic terrorist groups are operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and are planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle-born improvised explosive devices (VBIED). Accordingly, it reported that Fort Bliss was named as a target and several sources have confirmed an increased security measures at the base.

Will the attack come on 9/11 or …?

More recently, new intelligence started contradicting earlier reports and suggesting the attacks on the U.S. homeland may take place in the weeks following 9/11. According to Islamist experts, ISIS and AQAP have decided to delay direct terrorist action in the United States. The general consensus was a calculation that an attack on America will have a greater shock impact some time after the first cycle of outrages from attacks abroad, toward the end of 2014 or early 2015. This would prolong the pain, but also makes it harder for U.S. Forces and law enforcement to remain alert for such a prolonged period of time.

Much of the latest assessment came after Saudi King Abdullah warned the West that Al Qaeda’s plans were imminent. “If neglected, I am certain that after a month they will reach Europe and, after another month, America,” the king firmly and flatly stated.

The king issued his warning on the occasion of the U.S. Ambassador Joseph Westphal’s formal presentation of credentials. Normally, this might not seem significant, however there is a backstory. The Ambassador has been in place for about two years, so it is odd that the king is suddenly getting around to asking for his credentials. Instead, it is believed the request for credentials was an excuse to hand over the intelligence under formal-facing channels. The United States’ ties are not as strong with the Saudi’s as they were during the Bush administration or even in 2009 when President Obama allegedly bowed to the Saudi king. (Allegedly only because the White House vehemently denied what the rest of the world clearly seemed to observe.)

Have you invested in a quality tactical medic’s course? Is something beyond a butterfly bandage and CPR training necessary?

International Response

European leaders certainly seem to be taking the warnings seriously enough. The prime ministers of Britain and Australia, David Cameron and Tony Abbott, appear particularly concerned with the Saudi king’s warnings since Saudi intelligence shares the view that a great number of lives are at stake if Al Qaeda consummates its plans and Europe is slated to be the first to get hit.

U.S. intelligence and counterterrorism sources have shown agreement by disclosing that the data on the two Al Qaeda groups’ plans to mark the 9/11 anniversary with major attacks has been in the hands of Middle Eastern, European and U.S. security agencies since at least the second week of May 2014. However, President Obama’s recent admission as to the lack of a plan to deal with ISIS abroad casts doubt over the resources dedicated or in place to handle this particular threat of an attack here at home.

Prime Minister Cameron has taken preliminary steps to combat the danger to his country by asking parliament to urgently approve sweeping legislation to combat the “scourge of extremism.” These efforts would include the power to seize the passports of an estimated 500 British Muslims known to be frequent travelers to Turkey, Syria and Iraq and who are strongly suspected of identifying with Al Qaeda’s jihadist ideology.

Most counterterrorism experts fear that these measures if approved would come too late to pre-empt Al Qaeda’s 9/11 anniversary plot. Do you believe it is too late to ‘close the barn doors’ here at home and prevent an attack as well? Given the current state of our borders, is a seized passport sufficient to prevent terrorists from entering the U.S.?

Make a Plan

September is National Preparedness Month and while large coordinated attacks are of major concern, smaller lone wolf-style attacks are more likely to affect each of us in a way that we can adequately prepare to prevent or minimize. Here is a basic list of items everyone should already have, but what are your thoughts regarding an imminent terrorist attack sometime over the next three months? What would you add to the list in preparation against the imminent threat of a terrorist attack such as firearms, ammunition, gas masks, protective clothing, medications?

If successfully attempted or carried out, do you think an attack would be a small-scale local event like the Boston Marathon bombings or something larger such as an attack on the electrical grid or water supplies? What supplies or preparations do you think are necessary for an active shooter situation or mass casualty?

Add your suggestions and ideas and lists in the comment section and we will compile and publish them for the entire community.

  1. Don’t forget there is more to this than food and ammo.If you are on long term medication, realize that most plans will refill you on the 23rd day. Set that week’s worth aside and keep doing it until you have a good sized collection of what you need to maintain yourself and family. I’ve got 2 year’s worth and rotate the bottles so they don’t expire. If you have good insurance, always get ALL of your refills. Kitty Litter 35 pound yellow plastic containers make great, seal-able storage containers. Diabetics take note. Your “grab bag” should include a bag full of your test strips and meds.

  2. Basically you need anything and everything…

    Cooking means

Weapons including guns, bow & arrows, knives

Hand tools that are no electrical

    Lumber PVC PIPING…

extra gas, flashlights lanterns that run on fluids wooden matches, bails of straw lighter fluid LOTS of charcoal, chain saws extra parts storage barrels to store 300 gals of water…

    Passive rain collection systems… Tarps

    Medical supplies/ first aid

It just goes on and on because depending on what happens it could 2 weeks… 2 months… 2 years before things get up and running…

So one needs to set a target date for how long you want to survive… 2 months. 6 months 2 years and hope you make it that far and things become somewhat normal.

You have to asses the threat assessment and estimate how long things go down and go well beyond that time period for every thing you need to have.

Hope for the best… Prepare for the worse…all you can do.

  3. It should be common sense, but it bears mentioning: Using duct tape and plastic sheeting to completely seal off a room is not recommended unless you have an air filtration system feeding that room. Otherwise, you will die from suffocation. (i.e. oxygen is not being replenished)

  4. For those that are not following (Carl R.), they are asking for positive input and suggestions for dealing with a SHTF scenario, however that may be created. Having said that, it would also be wise to stock up on medical supplies and trauma kits. We keep full kits with all our tactical gear as well as in each vehicle, alongside our B.O.B.s. There are a lot of great schools and courses available from basic to combat medic under fire, designed for what civilians could face in a worse case scenario. If the 911 system is overwhelmed and we have no first responders, it’ll be up to each of us to have the knowledge and the skills to address these issues. Lets hope it never comes to that, but lets also be prepared and not simply rely on hope!

  5. Steve Cullen
“just the fact that I am not one of the 90% of the population who is clueless/uninformed/or any or all of the above.”

    @Steve Cullen
That’s being a bit generous. That figure has got to be closer to 98% 🙂

  6. Obama Yo Mom Ma’s only goal has been the destruction of the United States Of America! He has been doing just that, with the help of all the like minded fellow air heads, he has placed in government jobs all over this nation.
They LIE about everything under, above and around the sun. They hate the U.S. Constitution. Only using it when it meets their goals and then flushing it when not in their favor.
How long is it going to take the voting citizens of this nation to wake up?
As long as Obama Yo Mom Ma is in NO danger from outside the White House he could care less about anyone else.
Hillary Clinton has only a few differences than Obama Yo Mom Ma.
    1. She is just like her so called husband Bill. If it is supported by a majority of the citizens, I am all for it, no matter what.
    2. When I am running this government, I will not speak softly and will use a big stick.
    3. Don’t cross me on anything I do or say.
    4. I don’t play golf to get away from the pressure of the job. I hang out with my girl friends.
    5. If I am making billions off of anything, I am for it, no matter what!
In other words, “Its all about me, Not any one else!”
    The true dictator herself!

  7. As I have been posted the past couple of days here since I’m new to this site.

But I’ve worked in law enforcement for about 26 years and security for about 7 or 8 years now, even on the Federal level.

Do I have all the answers? NO, am I more knowledgeable than the average citizen? Probably.

That said my mind set/DNA is to be aware/proactive/and prepared for whatever may happen as best as I can be, knowing that I can not know all the things that may come before me.

I also am wired to use deadly force if the situation requires and have no issue in doing so. It’s the way I’ve been trained and it’s in my DNA so to speak.

I also know no weapon is ideal for all situations, so I’m presently adding my weaponry to meet my particular needs….handguns to long rifles as well as what I feel will be a sufficient amount of ammo to feel that I have enough on hand to adequately handle any and all situations

I realize that without enough ammo weapons become useless.

I also know food is necessary as much as weapons and ammo as well.

Plus additional needs also will be required for most situations and I’m taking steps to address those needs. I have 200lbs of charcoal on hand, and look to get 5-7 cords of firewood.

One thing I am or do is analyze things to the hilt….it’s just the way I am.

Therefore, I am trying to address as many “what if” scenario’s as possible, knowing I can’t be 100% accurate.

So I am also trying to come up with some “MacGyver” means and methods as well.

Can I or do I want to go to “bunker” Nope…not going to happen for various reasons. But protected, hopefully I’ll be. That’s all I can do at this point.

Protection, food and shelter will be my 3 primary objectives to meet.

Will I be able to help other’s? Probably not.

Plus if others are clueless and not prepared then I’m sorry for them….but their failure to prepare is not my responsibility.

I’ve been a around for a long long time… shortly after WWII….and I’ve ever seen a point in time as dire as it is today.

I’ve spoken to some people who views/feelings are “if things get real bad, and I must die then I’ll be going to a better place”….

That’s not my “mantra”….rather I refuse to quit and if any SOB wants to take me down they’ll have to earn it, and hopefully I can take a few of them before they get me. I will not quit, surrender or go down without a fight.

Sorry, but that’s just the way I am.

That said, I’m, playing catch up at the moment, and probably need 4-6 months to get to where I want to be and feel secure and adequately prepared.

I’m also a “certified news junkie” as well, and can pretty much “quote chapter and verse” as far as what’s going on in this world.

Most I’ve found can’t even tell you who the current US Attorney General is….let alone what ISIS is or means….their problem, not mine.

Nor do I feel that I want to sit back and have some dude with a towel wrapped around his head decide to separate my head from my body….rather I’ll be more than happy to put a 40 cal. slug between his eyes or center chest and move on to the next one if I have to.

Unfortunately I feel we’re at a similar stage of time and history that took place prior to Dec 7th 1940 or 1941 in Pearly Harbor….

I also feel that this time whatever takes place going forth won’t take place in some distant country as it happened in WWI or WWII, but it will take place here just like two previous wars….the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.

Therefore, I and only I since it’s my responsibility take charge for my family will do what I feel is proper, correct and appropriate “JUST IN CASE”….

I hope to hell I’m wrong, but just in case my expectations are correct I’ll be prepared….all others are on their own.

Selfish???? I don’t think so in this case….just the fact that I am not one of the 90% of the population who is clueless/uninformed/or any or all of the above.

I’ve predicted “dark clouds on the horizon” for several years now….I no longer see that happening….rather I see the “Perfect Storm” forming….and it’s time to button up, make final preparations just as I did when Hurricane Andrew came in to S. Florida.

My assessment is “Things are going to get real bad, real soon”….

Hope I’m wrong, but just incase I’m right I’ll be one up on most.

    That’s all I can do

    Best to all…

    1. Well said…There are two types of enemy…
Those that have been properly dealt with and those that are still alive.
Doing whatever it takes to survive is purely elemental to any creature on the planet. Those who are not prepared will not survive.

  8. It is impossible to be 100% secure, or even 100% prepared for the multitude of terror attack possibilities. But ANY preparedness is better than none. We have been prepping for years, security and self reliance are our #1 priorities. In the event of large scale chaos – we are prepared with food, medical issues & a means of securing it from the Ferguson & Katrina minded thugs. There are basically 2 breeds of behavior in any crisis; the ones who simply take advantage of a chaotic event, and the ones who are have not prepared and resort to desperate measures. The #1 problem we plan around, is safely reaching the security of our home if we are out when chaos ensues. Keep gas tanks full – keep weapons and some basic nutritional resources with you at all times – have a contingency. Talk openly with your immediate family and at minimum do a table top exercise where there is a common strategy known by everyone involved in your plan. Every US city has approximately 3 days of food & fuel resources. Where this article suggest to be prepared for at least this long, I suggest a minimum of 30 days for a even a novice prepper. Ice storm threats in the south can empty supermarket shelves in hours & enighbors caught short because they did not get to the grocery store in time. This is almost negligent in my opinion for any head of a household to be so dependent on a “run to the market to stock up” so his/her family can ride out a few days of ice. . but it happens. We have a complicit media that either hypes events, or downplays them to a gullible population. Be prepared and depend on yourself and your prepper circle is my advice.

  9. I’d like to respond to the questions asked in the article above.

I live in the Fort Worth/Dallas area. For those who haven’t been here, it is called “The Metroplex” for a good reason. It is an area about 90 miles wide and about 40 miles deep and counting the adjacent counties contain near 3.5 million people.

In the middle of this population one can find fields of grain, hay, and cows scattered throughout the metroplex with, in one case, an automobile factory next door. There are a few lakes in and surrounding areas for water as well as public enjoyment. There are also many miles of multiple-lane highways that connect the main business areas.

One item of note is the large number of universities/colleges and that the area is declared an “aerospace” hub. It has the only active fighter factory in the USA. It also has the biggest and busiest commercial airfield in the country (D/FW).

My opinion is that we are easy pickings for VBIED. I-35 north is already a bottleneck so a vehicle could pick a number of places that would shut down the only north/south interstate used by almost all of Texas based
freight. The lakes are all accessible by traffic and so to a “dirty” truck.

As the size of this area is large and “roomy” as Texas it’s also an island sitting alone on the Texas prairie. Outside the metro area there is miles of sweet bloody nothing; a small ranching village here and there is all that breaks the monotony of a long swift drive on a hyway or a narrow country road.

I have painted a simple view that could suggest a number of scenarios. It won’t take a rocket scientist to come up with something nasty, but a genius to plan to prevent all possible ones.

  10. Desperate situations bring out desperate people.

I’ve already told the wife not to tell ANYONE and that includes neighbors, family… NADA!!!

My view is this… Failure on someone else’s part to access, evaluate and prepare for worse case scenarios dose not require me to bail their butts out.

So I’ve told the wife not to tell anyone about our plans… Food… Weapons… If something does happen probably in 7-14 days will be the most important/dangerous period of time.

Those who least prepared will start to seek hand outs from neighbors. As soon as you oblige the first time they’ll be back again and again.

You’ll have to say No the first time or your going to regret it. If not you might as well hand everything over from the get go and then you’ll be the one’s left with nothing.

Hard fact of life. But it’s reality.

  11. Best to combine resources with “like minded friends & neighbors”. Do not casually brag about your preparedness like food storage and weapons to anyone not in your prepper circle. The unprepared will flock to your door and tough choices have to be made about your own families well being. The governement imbecils will not see you as being prepared,.. but as “hoarding” and want to take your hard earned resources. Its an old military cliche,… but still hold merit; “Loose lips sinks ships”. A crisis and desperation brings out the worst in people, your unprepared neighbors included.

  12. When it comes to being prepared for an attack the most likely point will be your TV or Radio and the propaganda from the most dangerous and sinister group on earth- the US Government. Turn off the TV and radio use some common sense to see the world around and know that if we are less safe today it is because of 100 years of US intervention and empire building.

    1. Prepared,
Really? Is that why they started what became the crusades? Because of American intervention?
These people seek to kill all who do not share their beliefs and their god.
They consider us the great satan because of the freedom we have to worship and live however we like.
      Know your enemy.

    1. Steve Google it again. The thing went on for three days with over 1,000
casualties, 300+ dead and 700+ wounded. They have seen how we come unglued with a “normal” school shooting, a Beslan level event would be soul crushing. They need not reinvent the wheel, they already have the blue print. Read William Forstchen’s “Day of Wrath”. It’s just out
and it’s a real page turner. Nothing much has changed. Schools are still among the “softest” of targets.

    2. Living in and free and open society allows many many “soft targets” way beyond just schools…

Far more than one can imagine without really doing an assessment.

Is there any way to really harden them up??? Probably not unless one is willing to move away from “free and open” concept and have all kinds of check points put into place.

Keep in mind what we think are the obvious locations may n fact not be what the radicals are looking at.

Those guys are sitting around thinking, planning looking and then re-planning their ideas over and over again and again before the set them in motion.

Is there any means/ways/ideas of being 100% or even 95% secure????

      Probably not…..

  13. I recall that event… Russian special ops went in and basically cleaned house…

What I think and I’m just a dummy so don’t hold what I think /say as being accurate…

But what ever happens will be something totally off the radar… Off the wall and something that the conventional “planners” aren’t even considering.

Box cutters and commercial planes turned into missiles weren’t consider prior to 9/11…

These guys are going to come up with some ideas /plans that will be totally off the radar but will have the maximum effects to take down the operational capacity of our government /nation…

That in turn will cause mass civil unrest which will last for months… Then they’ll be able to just come walking in and basically “mop up” if they can…

However there are a ton of people who are stocking up “just in case”…

    Not everyone… Not the majority… But enough that won’t go down w/o a fight….

  14. The eaisest to do and most psycologically devestating scenerio would be something along the lines of the Beslan school massacre carried out in southern Russia by Chechen terrorists a dacade ago. I urge you to Google it. As bad as Sandyhook was, Beslan was worse than every school shooting you ever heard of put together. A half dozen Beslans going off at once would paralize the country. All commerce would cease and all law enofocement would go to schools leaving us in WROL.

  15. What I really fear is an atomic or biological attack and the sieve that is our southern border makes that a real probability. I expect to look north east some morning and see a bright flash of light, hear a clap of thunder and see a mushroom cloud rising over Los Angeles.

The opening line form a book called “STOCKADE,” by Jack Pearl was: “If you see a bright flash of light, sit down where you are and pull your knees up to your chest. Stick your head between you legs and kiss your ass goodbye because that’s an atomic bomb!” You’re dead and a strong biological agent could do the same thing. I read that book in the early 60’s and the line was used by many of the instructors at the ABC schools in the Marine Corps.

When it happens it won’t surprise me because we and the idiots we’ve elected for the last thirty years have been too busy taking care of everybody else in the world but not ourselves. If you’re not a prepper you should be and like we used to say, “I’ve got mine buddy, how are you doing?”

  16. The “primary events” will be bad, but it’s what comes afterwards that I see to be of greater concern…

Initial action will be not conventional “battle”… But it will be something that will cut the legs out of our society and that in turn will throw everything into complete & total dysfunction….

That’s going to be the issue /problem…

Once that happens then we’ll be easy pickings for the” bad guys”…

They have to somehow “collapse” our “system… They have to cut our” pillars of strength ” before they can over take us…

  17. I’ve dealt with “evil” all my adult life…

I’ve been “through the gates of hell” more times than I care to think about… And I have survived and I’m still ticking…

Am I the biggest “bad ass” out there? NO.!!!
but I am more than 99% of the population…

I have no problem taking a 40 cal/9mm and screwing it into someone’s ear and applying 3lbs. of trigger pull and sending them to their “maker /Allah /God”… Whoever or whatever…

    That’s the way I’ve been trained… Pure and simple…

What is coming our way is something we have never seen before…

    That’s what I’m seeing…

Hope the hell I’m wrong, but I don’t think I am..

Hope for the best… Prepare for the worst…

  18. I have worked in one of the top 3 areas for the “major leagues” of law enforcement for 20+ years + I’m originally from Boston… Use to deal with Bulger and Winters Irish mob and then the Cocaine Cowboys…

What is going on now make those people look like “Saints”…

I’m a certified news junky as well… And I can quote chapter and verse as far as connecting the dots…

Most think (when you ask them) ISIS is some video game…

Over the past several years I’ve asked maybe 70 people who the USAG is… only 2 could tell me…

Bible predictions /doomsday/whatever is on the horizon I do not know.. I ain’t that smart…

BUT… I see bad things coming… Maybe this week… Maybe by 11/2014…but no later than 1/2017…

What ever happens will be totally “outside of the box”… Outside of conventional” thinking… And it will (if successful) totally collapse our way of life…

that is the ultimate goal of radicals… To destroy us any f’in way they can… These” dudes” don’t play by the rules… We do and that will be our Achilles heel…

Just “From where I sit”… Point of view…

    Your thoughts /view may vary…

  19. @Steve Cullen: Go with your instincts. The Good Book called it this way. Some people (like us) have the ability to see the truth, but more are unbelievably ignorant and oblivious to it.

The extreme separation between those that see and those that don’t is only apparent to those of us that can see the truth. The mere fact that so many can’t see something that is so obvious to the rest of us is, in and of itself, all the proof the rest of us need that something of Biblical proportions is upon us.

Only those that see the truth will even understand what I just said.

  20. I did some 30 years in law enforcement agencies and security to the Feds… But am out of it now… Not my game any more…
I’m also behind the curve as far as “preparing”… But I’m ahead of 90% of the population who I’ve found to be totally clueless as to the events going on in the world as well as the consequences should something happens which I firmly believe will.

It will be totally outside the box as far as what will take place…

It will be the maximum bang for the buck action… i. e. Dirty bombs in multiple locations… NYC DC TX Chicago LA for example… or EMP to take down the electric grid…

It’s not the initial action that concerns me as bad as it will be, but what happens after that if they are successful in collapsing entire operations of this country…

I’m way behind preparing and need maybe 4-6 months to get my nest sent up… But I’m ahead of most people because most don’t see any dark clouds on the horizon… I no longer see dark clouds… I see the perfect storm coming shortly and I have no idea what it will be but it will be beyond our wildest dreams /imagination.

I am not a doom & gloom person… Just a realist… And I hope I’m wrong but I see very bad things happening soon that will make 9/11 look like a walk in the park…

Call me crazy.. Call me weird call me what ever you want… It’s only how I see things… Your thoughts or views may vary…

  21. @ Rick: Agents and officers depend heavily on the intelligence analyst. Their job is so vast that each analyst has their regional specialty, and within that an area of expertise that takes years to develop.

At the same time they must rapidly be able to appropriately assess real-time information from agents, actors, and informant assets on the ground, validate legitimacy, and then be able to combine that with geopolitical and other open sources of data to form a comprehensive picture for decision makers that direct resources and assets.

We simple do not have the resources to chase down every single lead and so we must depend heavily on the intelligence community to sort out those leads that rise to the top. The reason I am explaining this is so that people have a better understanding of what is being dealt with on a daily basis.

This is where understanding the various Islamic factions comes in to play along with each of their protracted histories that are so extensive that the average person could never tolerate the hours required to be an intelligence analysts.

More specifically is their understanding as to why ISIS / ISIL are so different from al-Qaeda. Simply put, al-Qaeda was not moving fast enough for some of the more extreme Islamists and so they broke away and formed their own splinter cell as ISIS. Unlike al-Qaeda which was satisfied with the occasional “big splash and attention” as you put it, ISIS on the other hand really wants to do damage and finish us off for good.

This is why if the ISIS influence takes hold or they finally infiltrate our country, we won’t see al-Qaeda style “large venue” tactics like 9/11, but instead it will be attacks designed to truly hurt us on a Biblical scale – such as major city water supplies being simultaneously poisoned and aircraft aimed at nuclear power plants.

Unlike al-Qaeda, ISIS knows they get one shot before we envelope them with massive reprisal. So when they make their move, it will be bigger than anything anyone had imagined.

  22. IMHO the most obvious targets will be those that will get the biggest splash and attention. Therefore, consider a dirty bomb due to it’s impact and longer lasting effects. I would anticipate it would be a large venue with tens of thousands of people such as a college football or other sporting event where security might not be as intense as a pro venue. In the alternative a nerve gas attack would have a lot of attention but it would have to be in a confined area to be really effective so NY subways or DC Metro, etc would be likely. Just my opinion and yes I do have an ahole too.

  23. @ KCP: Well I’ll certainly alert the Director that your Intel is more sophisticated than ours.

All kidding aside, our intelligence analysis allows us to draw a distinct difference between tracking innocent Muslim conversions from one religion to another in Mexico, and is a completely different focus than the direct threat of actual Muslim extremist activity and recruitment.

While the Muslim religion itself is ever so slowly growing amongst the indigenous Mexico people residing deep in the mountains (natives that don’t speak Spanish), attempts at converting their leadership such as the Zapatista army commanders were unsuccessful. Likewise, Muslims haven’t even come close to accessing heads of Mexican cartels, let alone converting one.

While there are small cells of Jihadist and Hezbollah groups that periodically become exposed within Mexico, they primarily exist in the tri-border regions further down into South America where the bulk of Syrian and Lebanese have migrated to over the years. In any event, the extremists are heavily tracked and taken out by all governments concerned.

With such common goals, global cooperation, heavy intelligence monitoring, and assets that you could never begin to imagine we have in place, I can tell you that to date we have no credible intelligence establishing coordination between Mexican cartels and Muslim extremists of any kind. Their ideologies are so vastly different they simply do not allow for it.

Post 9/11 activities were extremely costly for the Mexican cartels. Without us even conducting a complete border shutdown, just our increased security alone has forced them to continue to work harder just to recover their lost revenues from back then.

We have always possessed the capacity to completely seal all 1,989 miles of border we share with Mexico, as well as extensive marine resources to close off waterways if there were ever a credible hint of a potential terrorist attack from that region.

The Mexican cartels understand this quite well and fear it as a detrimental part of their business. So, I can absolutely, positively, irrefutably guarantee you that cartel leadership in no way would ever want additional law enforcement focus on their border.

They are aware intelligence assets are watching and go out of their way to stay as far away from the mere appearance of Islamic cooperation. You’re just going to have to trust me on this.

  24. I’ve started to think and prepare for “what if” scenario.
I worked through Hurricane Andrew and was without power for 14 days.
I go to Wal-Mart and look at items I can buy and store for at least 1.5 years in cans. Then put them aside from our regular food. Then if I have to I’ll pull them out and use them and then replace them with fresh purchases.

I also have 200lbs of charcoal stored. Will be getting 5 to 7 chords of firewood also for cooking and heating.
PVC piping to make a greenhouse as well as storing fresh water…
I’m collecting 2 liter plastic bottles also for storing drinking water.
Have 4-55 gal plastic barrels to collect rain water in.
Will be getting peat moss, perlites and verticitle to make my own inexpensive potting soil.
Tarps for putting over roof to use to get rain water to flow in the rain barrels. a 12 X 20 foot tarp with 1″ of rain can collect 150 – 200 gals of rain water BTW.

Yes, flashlights, wooden matches, cheap lighters, 2 bales of straw to use to help start fires.

3 cheaper charcoal grills to cook on.

large cinder blocks to place BBQ grills (18″ across) over a wood fire. $15 at Wal-Mart and $19 at Lowe’s. set on top of 4 cinder blocks.

Coupon clip to save on can food or any other item and save $40-$70 every time you shop and use the savings to increase what you buy.
Buy store brand as well and not brand name. After all sugar is sugar and in time of crisis does it matter if it’s a cheaper or more expensive brand of sugar.

Also weapons, ammo (never can have enough ammo, because once ammo runs out guns become useless) and other type of devices that can inflict injury or be fatal such as sling shots and bows and arrows. Some time you might want to use those things and not make any sound in doing so….

Knives, axes, bow saws, chain saws extra gas good first aid kit…even better a trauma kit etc etc….

Think about all aspects of “what if” and then analyze it and then “think outside of the box” .

Police and fire may not be available and transportation may not be possible depending on the event.

Plan for the worse case possible and hope it never happens.

90% of the population are clueless and after 7 days when they have nothing to eat, they will become as dangerous as the enemy.

You may not be at 100%, but you’ll be a whole more ahead than 80% of the population….and that will be the key.

  25. One other thing you might consider acquiring before any type of disaster hits is a solar cooker. A simple set up for cooking any stuff around the house before hitting into the freeze-dried survival stuff should the proverbial SHTF. It is easy to stock up on rice, noodles, dried soups, etc. when they are on sale and can last a very long time if kept dry and are easy to cook by solar.

  26. I had a Virgin before. It was kinda squarish and went dead at the slightest touch. She didn’t like water either. She always looked at me through blurry eyes. I returned it to walmart to the Muslum salesman explaining that the screen went White all of a sudden. This Sticky stuff on the Phone; He Ask; it looks, feels, and smells like Bacon Grease.

  27. If you mess with the Bull, your gonna get the horns. Attack a country with more guns and people willing to use them than any other in the world? They must really want those virgins!

  28. I do not see an armed attack where citizens are in gunfights w/ terrorist unless it is small army, which seems unlikely. It seems a group of suicide bombers is more likely the danger for an attack in America. Symbolic targets seem most likely for an attack here. Nlt Moments, sports complexes, etc. would be the targets it seems to me. If this is the case preparation for us would mean evac plans for family in the affected areas and first-aid packs to help the wounded if we are near an event.

The exception to an armed attack where private citizens are in gunfights would be a small attack unit of terrorists who target a group, like a church or synagogue, for hostages to get media attention, and strike a symbolic blow to Americans that we can’t keep our people safe. A school would be a primary target but no one is allowed to carry weapons there, so no gunfight involving citizens there.

    1. “I do not see an armed attack where citizens are in gunfights w/ terrorist unless it is small army, which seems unlikely.”

I agree, but my concern is that there would be a distinct possibility that the law enforcement infrastructure could/would be so overwhelmed that non-terrorist looters and other low-lifes could be a threat if allowed to run amok due to their search for water, food, etc., that were no longer available in stores.

When these types get hungry and thirsty enough, they aren’t going to wait for grocery stores to reopen and get re-stocked with food and other basic necessities; they will strike out at homeowners and try to break into homes to take what they want.

  29. Thanks for the heads up. I am traveling to Australia for my job and I will be there for 8 weeks before returning to Texas. I have given my wife instruction in the operation of firearms as well as bulked up on essentials for her and the babies. I live in Perth WA. And there are many ISIS supporters there so I would not be surprised if I myself am under threat. Unfortunately the socialist of Australia have removed the rights of gun ownership from its citizen’s. So they have zero options for defense.

  30. Unfortunately like G-Man wrote, they are already among us. We keep welcoming these people knowing that hey are a potential threat. Keep Islam out of our country. I am not racist or prejudice, I just want my family to be safe. So that being said. Arm yourselves well. Have enough ammo. If you are planning to have several handguns, try to have some of the same caliber. Have a plan of action. A place to meet in case the family members are in different places. Take every threat serious.

  31. I don’t know any Muslums’ or any Muslum Terrorists, and if I did, and they drink beer; I’ll be sure to drink a Dos Exxes afterwords.

  32. I havent tested the Kling-on factor (Not Klingon people) yet. Does Bacon grease withstand the 29-32 hundred fps velocity or does it turn into Oil of Olay. Given all the variables aside–they (Terrorists’) probley can’t speak or understand English anyway–so just kill them the best way you can. Shoot them with bullet s made of Ice and Paper Machey from old Mad Magazines. If that doesn’t kill them nothing will.

  33. The author of this article may not be completely at fault for such disinformation, given he is repeating misleading, inaccurate, and unverifiable claims put out by another organization such as Judicial Watch.

Many of you know of my law enforcement background from previous posts. Border Intelligence is somewhat of a specialty for me. I can most assuredly tell you all – there was no such warning bulletin ever issued regarding an imminent terrorist cross-border attack.

That is not to say it couldn’t happen; but there was never an intelligence analysis or profile that led up to a warning bulletin ever being disseminated throughout law enforcement as claimed by Judicial Watch.

I normally respect Judicial Watch’s reports, but this time around we in law enforcement do not know of, nor has Judicial Watch revealed it’s supposed “high-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources”.

Again, that is not to say it could never happen, but there are things the public first needs to understand about the internal dynamics and specific relationships regarding cartels interests and how they choose to operate along the border. Simply put, when it comes to Islamic terrorism, the cartels are our best line of defense given they are the gatekeepers along the Mexican side of the border.

Every cartel’s priority is about making money and maintaining the power necessary to sustain their wealth and lifestyle’s for their own posterity and their family generations to come. With that understanding, they have an internal credo that no amount of money would ever be worth allowing such extreme ideologists as Islamic terrorists to bring such focus to bare on the border which would grossly affect their very livelihoods.

As gatekeepers, each cartel makes it their top priority to know at all times what is going on across their border sectors. And their employees pay with their lives for failing to maintain control and continuity with higher ranking cartel members.

Were Islamic extremist to use the southern border, it will not have been coordinated through any cartels. More than likely they would disguise themselves as a South American and speak enough Spanish in order to deceive the Coyotes that bring them across.

While there is certainly nothing wrong with raising alarms that increase vigilance and security awareness to specific regions such as the southwest border, the real disservice is in the detraction it may cause from focusing resources on more credible or plausible threats.

Thus far, not one single terroristic plot or incident has been through our southwest border. In contrast, the few we’ve exposed have instead been through our northern border with Canada or from an enemy already legally within our borders.

There are enough Islamic extremists already in our country legally; either born as citizens, legally migrated, or on student Visas – so many, that were they to plan a coordinated attack, they could do so easily with devastating effect.

For that reason, it is for each and every citizen to understand that the threat is upon us right now. While preparedness for the aftermath is prudent, prevention is better. We must all bear the duty to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities everywhere we may be – i.e., shopping malls, public gathering and events, public utility facilities and its fence lines, agriculture, government buildings, bases, and resource facilities are all our responsibility if we wish to sustain our resources that we all depend upon.

    1. G-Man, at one time that was correct. Following 9/11 the Cartels were our best line of defense. They did not want activity that would bring our LEO and Military response and, subsequently, harm the trade or impede traffic. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There is information other than media warnings. They are in Mexico. They are actively recruiting. It is known amongst the people. Those previous protections no longer exist.

  34. If we do have a massive attack, you know as well as I do that it will come from Muslims. People as old as I am have always prepared for emergencies so food and water and similar needs are already taken care of. You need to arm yourself. And by all means, smear bacon grease on your ammo and advertise you have done so. Advise your friends to do the same. If the Muslims know most people in a certain area are doing this, they will leave them alone. The Qur’an dictates it. Be aware and be prepared for what might be coming.

    1. “Real” Muslims would probably care greatly about bacon grease, but I seriously doubt that any U.S. or European-bred ISIS scum would pay much attention to the anti-pork stance….or at least they wouldn’t say so in the presence of other ISIS scum for fear that they too might lose their heads for even thinking about what many of us include in our “infidel” diet.

I mean….what “dude” ISIS member from Minneapolis would completely give up his bacon/pork sausage & eggs? Who knows: maybe they wait until they get back to the U.S. before they break ranks and end up at a Denny’s.

BTW: our esteemed government still refuses to pull passports from U.S. citizens who have joined ISIS ranks in the middle east. These people are

  35. Add paper plates and bowls to the list so that you don’t have a stack of dirty dishes left in the sink to wash after the emergency is over.

As for personal hygiene, the baby wipes will work well. My wife and I have a motor home, and when boon-docking without electricity, water or outside human waste dumping, we can last a week to ten days or so by using about a gallon per person per day for sponge baths while standing in the shower. The rest of the water (from an 80-gallon tank) goes for cooking, toilet-flushing, dish-washing. We use as little water as possible, and 80- gallons lasts quite a while if used sparingly. Without the sponge baths, we could probably last a month without problems, provided that we had an adequate supply of bottled water on hand.

The idea of using garbage bags for toilet use is a good one, but I would probably want to place each bag in a 5-gallon plastic bucket first. Also, rain water stored in large water containers is a good way to have water on hand.

Maybe a gallon or so of white gas to operate a Coleman lantern and camp stove, considering that there might not be any electricity available for light, nor any gas available if you have a gas stove.

Also, an adequate supply of personal prescription medications saved up, considering that the drug stores would be kaput for a while.

One more thing: an adequate supply of pet food and extra water if you have pets.
