The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 (H.R. 38) will be up for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, December 6. Please contact your U.S. Representative and ask him/her to vote for H.R. 38! Your fundamental right to keep and bear arms should not end at the state line. This bill would ensure that law-abiding citizens do not lose the ability to protect themselves when they travel from state to state. And it would ensure that anti-gun jurisdictions do not harass travelers for exercising their constitutional rights.
H.R. 38 DOES NOT:
- Allow prohibited persons to carry firearms;
- Create a federal licensing or registration system;
- Establish national standards for concealed carry;
- Override state laws governing the time, place, and manner of carrying concealed.
Please contact your U.S. Representative at (202) 224-3121 and via email, and urge him/her to vote for H.R. 38 on Wednesday, December 6!
If H.R. 38 “does not override state laws governing the time, place, and manner of carrying concealed”, some states will make CC requirements so restrictive that it will negate the intent of reciprocity. Guaranteed.
Please review the 2nd amendment. It’s a guarantee of state’s rights. To protect us from the over reach of a centralized government. If HR38 can override states sovereignty, we’re in trouble. That’s what’s wrong with NICS.
Sure hope it passes. I should be able to exercise my right of self defense if I go to Jeresy, NYC, Californica,or even Hawaii I will never spend my money in Hawaii until I can carry my CCW there. Requires airline transportation to get there, but I can DRIVE to the others and take my chances and spend as little as possible when visiting someone in those other states that refuse to recognize my right to carry ????
