Adjustable AR Gas Blocks

This last weekend, I provided a buddy a side-by-side comparison of his standard AR and one of my AR15s with an adjustable gas block. His actual quote was, “Holy crap! When can you do that to mine?” Your first experience with an adjustable gas block will be an enlightening one.

Range Report: Ruger SR1911 9mm

Ruger is an old line maker that has offered quality products at a fair price for more than 68 years. Although Ruger was late getting into the 1911 market, it introduced a short slide 1911 handgun, the SR1911 that has earned an excellent reputation for reliability, accuracy, and value.

Throwback Thursday — SIG Sauer C3 1911

To deliver on its promise to offer a discreet, but shootable 1911, SIG Sauer built the C3 with a Commander-length top including a match length and quality barrel, atop an Officer’s frame. Sleek lines and pleasing aesthetics make for great eye candy, but a 1911 has to rule the range too. The Shooter’s Log’s Dave Dolbee puts the SIG C3 through its paces for this Range Report.

Range Report: Century International Arms Zastava M88 9mm

Among the most reliable and battled tested handgun designs of all time is the Russian Tokarev. It simply doesn’t get the respect the 1911, Browning High Power and CZ 75 do, yet the pistol is always reliable, accurate enough for personal defense, and chambered for hard hitting cartridges. Century International Arms Zastava M88 continues the tradition.

Considering the conservative nature of shooters, this is quite an accomplishment. Springfield began its climb to the top by offering a good product at a fair price. The Range Officer now continues the tradition.

Range Report: Glock’s Best Pistol — Glock 22

When the Glock pistol was introduced, like many, I was skeptical of the polymer-framed pistol. I had positive experiences with the HK P9S 9mm and did not regard polymer as cheap—far from it. The HK was an extraordinary pistol. Rigorous testing and experience removed skepticism. The Glock was a reliable, affordable, and durable service pistol chambered for the popular 9mm Luger cartridge.

Charter Arms with a box of Winchester #12 ammunition

Range Report: Charter Arms .22 Pathfinder

This is a neat and affordable little kit gun—what more could we ask? It is a ball of fun to fire and use! As a kit gun or fishing gun, the .22 revolver is an American classic. There is little muzzle blast or recoil, and the revolver is useful for those who cannot tolerate heavier recoil. And, you just have to have a Charter Arms Pathfinder revolver in the bug out bag.

Glock 35 with extended magazine

Firearms

Range Report: Glock 35

I have previously stated that the long slide Glock is a good special team pistol for use by agencies that issue Glock pistols. However, the long slide Glock is also a great home defense and competition pistol. For those who can conceal the piece beneath covering garments, the Glock long slide is a viable defensive handgun. In the proper caliber, the pistol is also useful for hunting thin-skinned game.

Inland M1 Jungle Carbine — How cool can a carbine get?

There is something special about owning a historical firearm. The nostalgia alone makes it worthy, but when the gun also serves another purpose such as self-defense or survival, you really have something special. That is exactly the case with Inland Manufacturing’s new American made Jungle Carbine.
