For those who may never have heard of the SHOT Show (Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade) it is the largest gun show in the world. Unfortunately, because it is a trade show, it is not open to the public. That does not mean you will not have a front row seat at The Shooter’s Log. We have been busy running from booth to booth to discover what’s new in Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Airguns, Accessories, and Optics.
Are you an AR-15 or AK-47 fan? I know, silly question right? The only real answer is both. Recently, we have shown plenty of love to America’s rifle, so it is high time to dress up those AKs. Building on that idea, here are 10 AK accessories you’ll want to check out, but don’t worry, these accessories are priced to be ‘budget-friendly.”
Optics for the MSR platform continue to cover the range from red-dots for close-up work to magnified optics for precision long-range shooting. If you sell MSRs, then having a range of optics choices is a must-have. If you are looking for a new piece of glass to top your rifle, read on for the best new optics of 2017.
Looking for a compact optic that excels in ruggedness, clarity, and fast target acquisition? Check out UTG’s new 4X32 Compact Prismatic T4 Scopes.
In the vast world of modern firearm accessories, few traits have quite as much significance as versatility—the ability to use one product for several purposes. Enter UTG’s Super Slim Series of Risers. UTG’s Super Slim Series of Risers not only save you money, they offer logistical simplicity. After all, most tactical firearms use standard MIL-STD 1913 top rails, many of which are often enhanced with optics or red dot sights.
Recently, I had a chance to look at the Leapers UTG Gen 4 Red/Green Dot Sight. A friend at the range recently purchased a used Smith & Wesson Performance Center .44 Magnum Hunter revolver and the sight was mounted on it. A sub $50 sight on a $1250 magnum? This was a test I had to experience. After all, if the UTG sight could survive the abuse from a .44 mag., imagine how safe it would be atop an AR-15.
Don’t let the name fool you, UTG Pro ups its game with its new line of super slim, weight-saving rails. In addition, Arsenal’s SLR-104UR U.S.-built AK-74 Krinkov might be your only chance to own one of these collector rifles—these items and more have just been added to Cheaper Than Dirt’s! new product line up.
For the average range gun, you really can’t beat the price. All the rails I’ve swapped out fit perfectly on my mil-spec uppers. They’re rock solid and get the job done.
Given the rush at the gun counter, it is no surprise that optics is a hot category as well. Going through my notes, I have selected four more optics from the 2013 SHOT Show that you really need to consider before making your next purchase.
