Put Down the Gun Before You Down the Brew

Saying goodbye to summer, we use the day now to spend time with friends and family at the lake, celebrating with brews and bar-b-ques. It is also the weekend dove season opens in many states. My heart was beating out of my chest and the adrenaline coursing my veins was off the charts. I was on the ground in a blind and had a firm footing for a shot. The laser rangefinder ensured the range, and I knew I could make the 55-yard shot all day long—so I drew and let one fly.

Shotgun Ammo Guide

A 12-gauge means that you can make 12 balls of equal size out of a pound of lead and they will each fit the diameter of the barrel precisely. This is why a 20-gauge is smaller than a 12.

Are You Ready for Turkey Season?

If you threw your shogun in the closet last year and haven’t touched it since, it is probably time for a pre-season gun cleaning. Take it out to the range and do some functions testing. Get some turkey targets and make sure you are using the optimum choke and load for your gun.
