Taurus International’s Millennium G2 is an outstanding handgun. An attractive price tag and spotless performance have fueled this compact 9mm pistol’s popularity. The Millennium G2 is at least comparable to similar-size handguns from the major makers, and in some cases the it outclasses the others.
With an optic budget topping out at $400 for a red dot sight, the SIG Romeo 7 not only fills the need, it surpasses optics costing hundreds more. The Romeo 7’s 30mm red dot is optimal for most, and the controls are easy to use. The Beretta 92 handles well on a combat course. Recoil is modest even with +P loads. The tapered, double-column magazine is an aid in rapidly replenishing the ammunition supply. As a tactical pistol, the Beretta has much to recommend. As for absolute accuracy, the Beretta takes a back seat to few pistols.
Les Baer handguns are legendary 1911s with more than a little hand fitting and a vial of the maker’s sweat included. They are built, rather than assembled, and offer topflight performance for discerning shooters. Are they perfect? Perhaps not, but they are very close. Read the full report to how the Concept VI handled at the range.
Glock’s introduction of the Generation 5 pistol has been much anticipated. The new pistol offers significant changes—more so than any previous generation. The first change to the Glock was the addition of a light rail. Next, came the finger groove frame and the rough texture frame later. Read the full review for other changes as well as range performance.
