Don’t look now, but Christmas is just around the corner. Did you just realize you forgot to get the gunny in your life a present? Did you procrastinate again this year?
No worries, we happen to have a few simple solutions for that quandary. While retailers like Cheaper Than Dirt! have shipping cutoff dates, there’s still a little time to possibly get your gifts in by Christmas.
Here are some last-minute Christmas gift ideas for the gun owner in your life:
1. Apex Trigger Upgrades

Not to mention AR triggers. I wrote an article on those, which you can read here.
2. Pearce Grip Extensions

This inexpensive and quick-to-install item often makes for a much more comfortable shooting experience and who doesn’t want more rounds on hand?
3. Reloading Dies

Perhaps single-action shooting is their new thing. How easy is it to find a solid supply of appropriately soft-shooting, solid-lead .38 Special or .45 Colt ammunition? A die set would be a great remedy. Here are some different options:
4. Kestrel Handheld Weather Meter

You might not know this, but there are weather meters with Applied Ballistics already tied to them. This weather meter from Kestrel might just be the gift they are too shy to ask for.
5. Caldwell Target Camera

How about a target camera? Caldwell has a great target camera that I have used when shooting at 1,000+ yards.
What If It’s Too Late?
Unfortunately, UPS and the other carriers have given notice that they are NOT guaranteeing delivery dates, as the volume of shipping is just so much higher than anticipated this year. (Below four percent unemployment will do that.)
In addition to that, here are the cutoff dates for Cheaper Than Dirt. If you’re past these dates, your procrastination is going to cost you.

There is also the option of giving a card with a little note, “expect a gun-related present on 12/28, just for you.”
I know opening a card like that would NOT induce a frown if I received it. “My Christmas present-opening time got an extension… awesome!”
Of course, a gift card is always a fantastic option, as you can send e-gift cards the same day they’re purchased.

Folks, I realize I don’t know your gun-loving present recipient. I can’t really pick the proper choice for them, that is your job. My job is to stir the thought process and hopefully help you pick a true smile-maker.
That being said, Cheaper Than Dirt does have a fantastic Christmas gift guide with lots of options. Good luck and happy shopping!
