It’s no easy task, but Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has managed to take anti-Obama rhetoric to new heights. The rocker alleged that last month’s shooting in Aurora, Colo., was staged by President Barack Obama as part of a sweeping anti-gun agenda. Speaking at an Aug. 7 concert at Fort Canning in Singapore, Mustaine also connected other shootings to the president’s supposed plans. The U.S. firearms industry may be looking at a serious glut. Their all-guns-blazing drive to capitalize on the post-Obama/CCW sales surge could make them victims of their own success; pushing down prices and cutting profits. From R&D Magazine: Thanks to a new reference standard developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), law enforcement agencies will have an easier time linking the nearly 200,000 cartridge cases recovered annually at U.S. crime scenes to specific firearms.

A civil lawsuit filed Monday by House Republicans asks a federal court to enforce a congressional subpoena of Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. in his refusal to turn over documents sought in an investigation by a House committee into the failed Fast and Furious gunrunning operation. House Speaker John A. Boehner said in a statement the lawsuit seeks to overturn the Obama administration’s “frivolous executives privilege claims….” AAC is canceling all of its 10/22-SD orders, effective immediately, Nick Leghorn at The Truth about Guns blog reports. The 1022-SD was an internally suppressed Takedown model. AAC had decided to buy 10/22s from Ruger (or a distributor), modify the rifles themselves and sell them rather than going through Ruger’s chain of command and offering them through Ruger’s catalog, Leghorn said.

Safariland has introduced a dedicated mounting system engineered to be used on wheelchairs by competitive shooters who are wheelchair-bound. Developed with input from wounded warrior Trevor Baucom and Team Safariland shooters, the Model #WCM Wheelchair Mount line includes three product offerings: one for a Production Class Holster (such as the Safariland #5198 holster), another for the new Safariland Model 014 Open Class Holster and a third one to mount competition magazine pouches. After a decade hiatus, K-Var Corp. is once again importing the SLR101S rifle from Arsenal Co of Bulgaria. The quality comes from the original hot hammer-forged and milled receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, and trigger, the cold hammer forged and chrome lined barrel, and almost 100 years of workmanship and experience. All of this together creates a mil-spec rifle that is strong, accurate and will last multiple lifetimes. Are you ready, mentally? There is a division in this country like I’ve never seen in my nearly 50 years on this planet. I asked myself, if Marshall Law was declared and the black suv’s or military vehicles full of UN troops started showing up in my neighborhood, “What would I do?” I would like to think that I would say “Enough is enough!” and take up arms against the invaders. I am not a single man without family, so now I have to take my wife, kids, and other family into account. So the answer is, “I’m not sure what I’d do.” I love the U.S. and I’m willing to give my life for her. So, the question begs; are we, as citizens and freedom lovers, ready to give up all that we have, possibly our lives, to save the greatest nation in the world? What would you do?
