On the Twelfth Day of Christmas, My Trule Love Gave to Me—A Mossberg 500 Cruiser Pump-Action Shotgun

For one gun that can do almost anything, the pump-action shotgun comes extremely close. If you are looking for a gun that is incredibly reliable, easy to use and will go from hunting to home defense than turn to the most popular shotgun in America—the Mossberg 500. Mossberg has been producing the model 500 shotgun for 50 years and is currently celebrating over 10 million units produced. Remaining affordable throughout the years, the Mossberg 500 is a top-notch shotgun that is reliable and shoots like a beast. On top of that, it is rumored the Mossberg 500 is the only shotgun that meets the U.S. Army’s MIL-SPEC 3443D test.

The Mossberg 500 is a top-notch shotgun that is reliable and shoots like a beast.

The 12 gauge Cruiser model has an 18.5-inch ported barrel, 3-inch chamber and will hold six 2-3/4” shells. A simple tang safety, bead front sight and black synthetic pistol grip stock makes the Mossberg 500 Cruiser a no-frills powerhouse.

Much of the Mossy 500’s appeal is have versatile and adaptable it is. With its drilled and tapped receiver, add any sight or optic you choose. The availability of different stocks, grips, rails, optics, slings and ammo carriers is almost dizzying.

Unlike semi-automatic long guns, the Mossberg 500 will shoot any type of ammo you load into it, be it high-end clay shells or cheap Winchester white box.

There are not many other guns as versatile as a pump-action shotgun. Not only are pump-action shotguns easy to use—with each manual pump another shell loads, while the spent one ejects—the action is simple. Therefore, there is less chance for your gun to malfunction (jam) when you need it most.

Get it here. On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me a Mossberg 500 Cruiser pump-action shotgun

  1. In a recent Blog here on CTD/TSL that was about ” if you could only have three guns” almost every commenter including myself choose a 12ga as one of the “allowed” guns. Overwhelmingly that 12ga was either a pump 500 or a Remeningtom 870. There the go-to for nearly everyone.

Check out BullPup Unlimited on Google if you think that you might like that 500 in as a bullpup platform.
    Merry Christmas, Suzanne!
