On Thursday, California Eastern District Judge Kimberly Mueller declined to stop the state from imposing a ban on the sale of new handguns that aren’t microstamped. Unless the case is overturned on appeal, today’s decision would effectively ban the sale or possession of new semi-auto handguns in the state.
New Jersey is close to enacting its 2002 Childproof Handgun Bill requiring licensed firearms dealers to sell only smart guns. Gun control proponent State Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg says she will introduce a bill to repeal the ridiculous law only if the NRA backs down from its opposition to smart guns. Once the Armatix .22 LR smart gun goes for sale anywhere in the U.S., citizens of New Jersey only have three years until they cannot buy any gun but the smart gun.
Twenty-eight handgun models in common use were removed from the handgun roster by the California Department of Justice since January 28, 2014, and are now unavailable to gun buyers, reports Calguns. Of those, 22 are manufactured by Smith & Wesson, Inc.
Fortunately for all of the gunslingers and shooting enthusiasts out there, we have organizations such as the National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation, National Gun Rights Association and others defending our rights. The gun control crowd has taken a divide and conquer approach. Where they cannot strip us of our rights on a national scale, they are trying to pick apart one state at a time, even down to the county level if necessary.
