Who says Congress isn’t efficient? It has taken Congress less than 90 days to capitalize on the tragedy in Connecticut. In case you are not fully following me, members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are casting first votes on measures backed by Obama to tighten gun control laws. The Democrats control the Senate Judiciary Committee, so I do not hold out much hope for a reasonable outcome. On Thursday, the committee voted on four different bills that make up the gun-control package, so brace yourself. The next assault on our Second Amendment rights has begun.
Since an article detailing companies’ responses to gun and accessory bans appeared in the Cheaper Than Dirt Chronicle, almost 100 manufacturers have announced they are not selling equipment to law-enforcement agencies that their states’ citizens can’t own — in particular, New York.

Olympic Arms, the AR-15 builder located in Olympia, Washington, recently released a statement about how it will deal with sales to states that are seeking to restrict 2nd Amendment rights. Also, the company published a public repudiation of the the official magazine of the Fraternal Order of Police, the FOP Journal, which was soliciting Olympic for advertising dollars.
