You read in anticipation about the products featured during our daily SHOT Show 2015 coverage, eagerly awaiting many of newest products to arrive on shelves. Sometimes—ahem, Kel-Tec—we might not ever see the cool things we saw at SHOT, while sometimes it takes a very long time to get our hands on new firearms. Other times, it doesn’t take months of wait time to get the latest and greatest to consumers. In this case, we only had to wait two months for the release of these five cool products that we saw and wrote about during SHOT Show 2015.
- Springfield XD Mod.2
- Beretta Pico
- Viridian Gen 2 Universal Light
- Aimpoint ACO
- Stevens Model 555 Shotgun
Springfield XD Mod.2

The newest model of this concealed carry favorite has been redesigned to feel and shoot better. The more contoured frame makes carrying the XD Mod.2 easier, as well as producing a smoother draw from a holster. The takedown lever and slide release are also redesigned for easier manipulation. Reviewers and already-owners say this model just feels right. The XD Mod.2 has a 3-inch barrel, weighs 26 ounces and is 6.25 inches long overall. It is available in either .40 S&W or 9mm in an all-black or two-tone finish with 9-, 10-, 12- and 13-round magazines.
Prices range from $472.08 for the .40 S&W 9-round model to $514.46 for the two-tone models.

Beretta Pico
Beretta spent the better part of a year perfecting this little pocket .380 ACP pistol. The company claims it is the thinnest .380 on the market at 18mm wide. Like the Beretta Nano, the neat thing about the Pico is the placement of the serial number. It is on the stainless steel modular chassis instead of the grip frame housing in expectation of availability of different grip frames to suit different shooters. It has a 2.7-inch barrel and weighs only 11.5 ounces. If the Beretta Nano hits too hard for you, try the softer-shooting .380 Beretta Pico.
The Beretta Pico sells for $378.00.

Viridian XTL Gen 2 Universal Light

There aren’t many compact weapon lights that are as bright as Viridian’s innovative XTL universal gun light. In strobe mode, it produces a blinding and disorienting 418 lumens, while constant-on produces 338 lumens. This is the exact reason we use weapon lights—to blind and disorient our attacker or threat. Made of high-strength Zytel polymer, the Viridian XTL uses only one CR123 battery. The whole set up weighs only 2.4 ounces. Utilizing Viridian’s intelligent technology, you have the option to set the bright LED weapon light on instant on. With the push of a button, activate the XTL’s Enhanced Combat Readiness Instant-On and the light automatically shines when drawn from a holster.
The Viridian XTL is $179.00 and ships free!

Aimpoint ACO

Aimpoint is the ultimate in optics for the AR-15. However, there are many who admire the high-end red dots from afar due to budget constraints. Late last year, Aimpoint introduced the Aimpoint Carbine Optic (ACO) specifically for AR owners with moderate spending budgets. Selling for less than EOTech and any model Trijicon, the ACO is a true contender for all MSR owners. The Aimpoint ACO has a 2 MOA red dot with nine brightness settings. The aluminum housing is waterproof and the battery life—of the one, DL1/3N included battery—is up to one year constant on. A fixed height mount is included which is designed to co-witness with your AR-15’s backup iron sights. It weighs 7.8 ounces.
The ACO is only $438.85.

Stevens Model 555 Shotgun

Stevens introduced an over/under worthy of any expert shotgunner’s attention, but features many benefits the beginner will appreciate. At Media Day at the Range 2015, many who shot it claimed it out-shot many of the bigger named, higher-end over/unders. Available in 12 and 20 gauge with 28-inch and 26-inch chrome-lined barrels respectively, the Model 555 has a 3-inch chamber and Schnabel forearm made of fine Turkish Walnut. The Stevens Model 555 over/under has a single-selective mechanical trigger, which the first pull sets the trigger up for the second pull. It includes five interchangeable choke tubes.
The price is hard to beat for a quality over/under with the 20 gauge selling for $572 and the 12 gauge for $571.19.
