SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle Remembered at Cowboys Stadium Memorial

Chris Kyle American Sniper

Slain ex-Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was a devoted husband, father and friend who will never be forgotten, his widow told mourners at his memorial service in Arlington, Texas, Monday.

Taya Kyle said she was broken but that the family will “put one foot in front of the other” to get through their grief. She told her two children that they will remember Chris Kyle’s silly side, Texas twang and prayers they prayed together.

“Chris, there isn’t enough time to tell you everything you mean to me and everything you taught me,” she said through tears.

Nearly 7,000 people attended the service at Cowboys Stadium. Dozens of military personnel and others were seated in front of the podium near the star at midfield, where Kyle’s flag-draped coffin was placed at the beginning of the service.

One way you can help is to buy 1791’s Heroes shirt. 100% of net proceeds of the 1791 shirt will be donated to the Mercury One Fund In Support of the Chris Kyle Memorial and FITCO Cares Foundation. Or donate directly through Mercury One.

You can also send a check to Mercury One by mail at: Mercury One, PO Box 140489, Irving, TX 75014. Be sure to put “Chris Kyle Fund” in the memo line. So far, the effort has raised more than $600,000 for the Kyle family.

  1. The United States has lost one of it’s finest warriors. He will be missed greatly. Taya and the kids are in our prayers. Your sacrifice will never be taken for granted by my family. A recent family project was dedicated in your name. Your deeds will be remembered. God speed brother. See you on the other side.

    Rest in peace brother.

  4. I had recently read about Chris’ death and immediately purchased his book, “American Sniper.” It was a fascinating read about his exploits in Iraq and his daily sniper duties wherein he saved the lives of countless numbers of our troops. A Navy Seal, Chris was truly an American hero and won’t be forgotten. Taya sacrificed much so that Chris could play a part in fighting terrorism. God bless her and her family.

  5. Mrs. Kyle,

Words fail us miserably at times like this. But please don’t judge our gratitude, our deepest sympathies, or our deep belief in this great country and heroes like your husband by the actions or lack there of by our President. As a nation, your husband’s sacrifice aswell as yours and that of your children will remain forever in our hearts.

May God bless and keep you all.

  6. God Bless you and your family. You are a example of what a great American should inspire to be, a father, husband, and Christian Warrior. I feel more pride for my time in uniform knowing that people like you shared in the sacrafice. I only pray that your family can find some peace in knowing that you made the world a better place for us all.

  7. As an old veteran, I salute Chris and his family.
I do not salute Mr. Obama nor do I recognize him as the Commander & Chief of our Armed Forces. In my mind, honor those that deserve honor. Roger

  8. God bless the job you did, the example you set and the sacrifices you made for your country and fellow Americans. Tho the President of the United States has not praised you for your service, feel not slighted, because the American People know the type person you were and we know the type person Obama is. He is not worthy of standing in your shadow…Rest in Peace Chris Kyle for a Job Well Done.

  9. I traveled from Mena,Arkansas to Arlington,Texas to pay my respects to an exceptional warrior and a better father and husband. The memorial service was a touching and fitting tribute. Not many dry eyes in the stadium following his wife’s eulogy. I will meet you in ‘Fiddler’s Green’ someday. RIP. Semper Fi.

  10. A National treasure and Patriot. A man who tried to give back to his fellow Veterans, only to be harmed by one. A senseless tragedy. May he rest in peace. As a fellow Veteran and a military retiree…heartfelt condolences to the Kyle family and his fellow comrades in arms.

  11. Chris Kyle’s being taken from his family and the people is beyond tragic. By far what is even more tragic is the Liar In Chief not saying a damn word about him. The hundreds of lives saved by Chief Kyle during combat, I believe, is vastly more valuable than anything Whitney Houston did. Yet, her passing gets the flag put at half mast. Not Chris Kyle. I hope, no, I pray that single fact right there absolutely infuriates every single member of the Armed Forces, ESPECIALLY, the special operations community. Even if they don’t say it out loud, I hope they feel it.

  12. A person couldn’t help but feel the true love of country and family from Chris Kyle. He had a shy country side about him, but you knew he was a warrior from within. We need more Chris Kyle’s in this nation. My prayers are with his family, his friends and this country. We are a better nation because of Chris.

  13. Please remember Chris by buying the items that support his wife and children.

Yes it is sad that the president didn’t even acknowledge Chris Kyle US NAVY Seal, but he (the president) was there to take credit when Seal Team 6 killed Bin Laden.

Fair winds and following seas… RIP Chris Kyle

  14. My heart goes out to the Kyle family. You have all been through a lot. Mr. Kyle, I’m a veteran myself and I’m proud to say that I respect you and your accomplishments on and off the battlefield. Not only did you take your military career to a high level you also took care of your wife and kids. I have a short list of people that I call Hero, and you are on it. Thankyou.

  15. Its sad that Obama couldnt see fit to remember or even mention a true American Hero after his death but ordered flags flown at half staff for that cracked singer Houston.

God bless you and your Family Kyle. And God bless the millions of Americans that have had to perform the near thankless job of defending this country and our way of life.

  16. Godspeed Chris, you are a hero and a true patriot that lead by example. I believe that you and Pat will the be the best of friends.

  17. My heart goes to out to Taya and the children. I read Chris’s book. He was a warrior and a gentleman. To those who eschew guns of all sorts, realize, pacifists live by the grace of warriors.
