Reader Comments of the Week

“I have an original Ruger wooden stock with sights. I waited to buy mine till close to Christmas and got it on sale for the same price as this new cheaper model. This new model would be great to get without waiting for a sale. I enjoy shooting my Ruger 10/22, added a scope with red and green light up sights for night hunting coyotes in Michigan. This gun is great for anyone looking for a good reliable 22 rifle and now more affordable. Thanks for the write up on this Bob.”

– SCOTT, in response to Review: The New, Less-Expensive Ruger 10/22

“Great write up. Especially for those who like to tinker and build. Good points with the tools needed too. Good Headspace gauges aren’t cheap as they are a very precise tool, which is why I went with a completed upper, but finished my lower with an 80%.”

– CHUCK, in response to The 3 Most Popular AR-15 Build Styles

“I have several 1911 style handguns and prefer it as my go to home defense weapon. I don’t own a high-end weapon but have practiced with my Sig Sauer, Colt and Rock Island models in all conditions and have never had a misfire, which is my number one criteria in a handgun. Properly cleaned and maintained 1911s are simply one of the very best personal defense platforms in both .45 and 10mm versions. I like polymer frame models and have quite a few of those but I always find my way back to the tried and true that I carried as a Marine even when the Beretta 9mm was available. I just plain like the feel of the 1911, even the cut-down Colt New Agent and Sig Sauer versions I have, when handled and fired.”

– CAPTAIN BOB, in response to A Look at the Springfield 1911 Loaded Operator .45 ACP
