Reader Comments of the Week

“I finally purchased a wheeler mount kit with 1″ and 30mm ring aligment and lapping tubes. This kit makes a world of difference in the ease of getting scope mounted, dealing with imperfect mating of rings and scope, and leveling the reticle. Add the loctite while scewing down alternating screws (as you mentioned) and the thing won’t move on you. I carry blue loctite in all my cleaning kits, range bag etc. Pretty much anything and everything that needs to stay put gets it!”

– CLIFFFALLING, in response to Best Practices for Mounting Optics on Rifles

“This was a GREAT REVIEW for one that has been around for awhile! Plus it should be mandatory at ALL NEWBIE CLASSES. I’ll be spending some time doing more dry fire practice. It popped into my mind that even experienced shooters need to do this on a regular basis. After all our guns wear and so do we = we have to keep on the changes. :slightly_smiling_face:

– MADDOG91, in response to Triggering Mechanics: Best Practices

“I am glad to see the 7mm-08 cartridge get a little love. I have a Remington Model 788 in this cartridge and it gets the job done very well. I have taken several antelope and deer over the years with no problems. My go to ammunition for this rifle is the Remington 140 grain core lokt rounds. I am very confident in this ammunition out to about 350 yards (whish has been my longest shot for taking game).
Thanks for a great article on one of my favorite hunting rounds.”

– JASON, in response to Review: Ruger American 7mm-08
