Reader Comments of the Week

“I love wheel guns, they are sturdy and functional. I had an old retired sherif deputy tell me that, “one thing about a wheel gun is that it will never lie to ya”. He had an old S&W 357, it is a beautiful firearm.”

– BMG88201, in response to Review: S&W 340PD — The Lightest .357 Magnum Revolver

“I’ve used a red dot on my hunting rifles for several years now. Mainly because modern bolt action rifles no longer come equipped with iron sights and my shooting range rarely exceeds 75 yards. The one key feature i look for is different dot colors. In the fall with nature changing to all shades of browns, reds, and oranges a green dot is easier to pick up. Likewise in the spring with all shades of greens a red dot contrasts so much better. fwiw”

– BUZZARD, in response to Top 10 Red Dot Sights for Your Rifle or Pistol

“Next to my Savage 99, my Hi power was the gun I most regretted selling and to this day I cannot believe I was so stupid to sell either of them. After selling it I ended up with a Beretta 92A1 as my go to 9mm sidearm but it is just not the same, as much as I like it, the Hi Power just fit me so much better. Everything about it fit me “just right” I carried it for about 10 years and really want another one and as soon as I can find one of these for sale I’m buying one! Two comments on it, I want adjustable sights!! I hate having to drift the sights for windage, and got to do something with the hammer, I just don’t remember it being so butt ugly.”

Alex Cole

Alex is a relatively young firearms enthusiast who’s been shooting consistently for around seven years. Though he is fairly new to the industry, he loves consuming all information related to guns and is constantly trying to enhance his knowledge, understanding and use of firearms. Not a day goes by where he doesn’t do something firearms-related.

Alex tries to visit the range at least a couple of times a month to maintain and improve his shooting skills. He also enjoys disassembling and reassembling firearms to see how they work and to keep them properly cleaned and maintained. He installs most of the upgrades to his firearms himself, taking it as a chance to learn.

Additionally, he is very into buying, selling and trading guns to test different firearms and learn more about them. He is not only interested in modern handguns and rifles, he appreciates the classics for both historical value and real-world use.
