Reader Comments of the Week

“Excellent suggestions! I find cordage very comforting. Titan 620 LB SurvivorCord (ASIN B01DAPFRZY) is the obvious choice but Kevlar kite string (ASIN B07283VX4D) is less bulky and TOUGH-GRID Genuine MIl-C-5040-H Type IV 750lb Paracord (ASIN B00CJICDT2) is ideal for wrapping your “survival shillelagh”. Copper wire (ASIN B001PCYJF4) could come in handy too. ASR Outdoor 60ft Rapid Deployment (ASIN B00ZV9TCEU) is convenient since it’s pre-wound on a thread bobbin (ASIN B00C1FKLBA).”

– DAVID, in response to Everyday Carry Gear: Best Accessories

“Agree with exsoldier, Alone is the absolute best for the genre of outdoor survival. Although, i really like Survivorman. Les thinks his way through and shows where staying calm shines. Also, thank you for not mentioning Dual Survival. It was like the Lifetime movie of the survival shows.”

– CHRISTOPHER, in response to 5 Survival Television Shows You Need to Check Out

“When my little boy was 7 I thought it about time to introduce my son to handling Guns for the first time. I thought it important that he learn to handle it safely. It is curiosity that really kills the cat. I took him to the gun store to look at them. The owner had him put the cricket up to a shooting position. He discovered that my son was not only left handed but left eye dominate. He said that Cricket did not make a LH rifle. . He said he would ask them if they would make one for him. Needless to say they did. When we received the rifle it was LH bolt action and gave us a free case with it. These are great people and would recommend them to any one. How often will you find a company that would make a rifle not of their normal production for a little boy that was left eye dominate. My son is now 31. I was never able to thank Cricket then but would certainly like to now. You helped to make my son a safe and accurate shooter.”

– ART, in response to Review: Keystone Arms Crickett Precision Rifle

“I have a Honey Badger pistol. It has a QD hole around the trigger area. Initially, I thought that it would be easy to find a male 2 point push button QD sling that can be used in the Honey Badger’s female QD holes. All I saw everywhere were slings that had all kinds of attachments, but no push button style QD’s. After a prolonged search. I finally did find one place that sold what I needed. However, I’ve forgotten the name of the vendor. And I believe that I had purchased the last sling of that style still in stock. Why has the release push button type gone out of style? I don’t know! At least now, I got mine!”
