We stopped by the Black Dog Machine booth at the SHOT Show to see three magazines Black Dog developed for .22LR caliber, AR-15 rifles and conversion kits. These X-Form mags are available in a low-cost, sonically welded version, a modular version with removable feed lips and a high-end model with metal feed lips. The fiberglass feed lips found on the mid-range model are tough enough to last for thousands of rounds and should not need replacing, although for those who prefer the “belt and suspenders” approach, they are replaceable with optional metal feed lips.
These 3rd Generation magazines are made from tough, glass-filled nylon. They are compatible with a variety of .22 uppers and conversion kits, including the Ciener/Atchisson, Spikes Tactical, Target Master, Kel-Tec PLR22, Sig Sauer 522, as well as CMMG’s conversion kit. Prices start as low as $10 each.
Black Dog Machine is also selling new followers for its AR-15 .22LR magazines that allow the use of a last-shot bolt catch. Other changes at Black Dog include a newly modified holster for the Ruger .22 Mark series of pistols that accommodates factory-installed rail systems and suppressors.
Tactical Solutions also had its refinished Glock conversion kit on display at the SHOT Show, which features a threaded barrel tapped for a 1/2×28 size .22 caliber suppressor.
