Smart shooters know that less is often more when it comes to dialing magnification on a riflescope. The new XTR II 1-8x24mm gives shooters the benefit of a true 1x optic—excellent situational awareness with a wide field of view and both-eyes-open shooting, quick target acquisition for fast initial and follow-up shots, and improved marksmanship from improvised shooting positions thanks to less perceived reticle wobble. But with an 8x zoom ratio, the XTR II when set to higher magnification allows for precise shot placement at longer distances, helped by two new reticle designs. This gives the scope unrivaled versatility for everything from stalking dangerous game in thick cover to mowing down steel in 3-gun matches to making longer shots while hunting and in competition when precision is required.
The Ballistic Dot reticle is a milliradian reticle located in the Rear Focal Plane. With the scope set at 8x, this easy-to-use reticle has holdover marks calibrated for shots to 1,000 yards with .223 Rem./5.56 NATO ammunition. It also has a bright, illuminated center dot.
The Ballistic Circle Dot reticle is also a milradian reticle, but located in the Front Focal Plane. The large illuminated center circle gets on target fast, and the holdover marks provide aiming points for shots to 600 yards that can be used at any power setting.
Like all XTR II riflescopes, the new 1-8x riflescopes are built to withstand extreme abuse. They’re equipped with high performance glass and multi-coated lenses for excellent brightness and clarity. A double internal spring tension system allows each scope to hold zero under shock, recoil, and vibrations, and the precision gauged and handfitted internal assemblies maintain a consistent point of impact through the entire magnification range. Like all Burris optics, they’re waterproof, fogproof, and backed with the legendary, no-questions-asked Forever Warranty.
MSRP for the new 1-8x riflescopes is $1,199.00.
