Birchwood Casey 2012 New Targets

Sharpshooter IPSC Practice Targets

For over 60 years, Birchwood Casey has been providing shooters with our favorite targets and gun care products. Last year Birchwood Casey created quite a buzz when they announced their line of Darkotic Splattering Zombie targets. All of us here at CTD have taken a few of the Darkotics out to the range. Sometimes range time is all about fun and sometimes range time is all about serious target shooting. For 2012, Birchwood Casey is releasing both fun and serious targets that I can’t wait to get my hands on.

For the serious competition shooter, Birchwood Casey created a silhouette based on the Standard International Practical Shooting Confederation’s (IPSC) competition targets. These corrugated plastic, all-weather targets will last hundreds of rounds of practice. They measure 18.1-inches by 29.9-inches with the scoring zones marked with perforated lines. One side is brown, while the other side is white so you can practice shoot/no-shoot stages.

Stick-A-Bull Self-Adhesive Targets

Stick-A-Bull™ Self-Adhesive targets are a budget-friendly way to have targets on the fly. Because they are self-adhesive and will stick to just about any surface, you do not necessarily have to have your gun range’s target backdrop, or staples to have a stable target. I wish I had these when I was shooting out at my friend’s back forty! They measure 12 by 12 inches and you have your choice between traditional bullseye or sight-in targets. As a value-added bonus, both targets include repair pasters so your target will last longer. The 12-inch bullseye come packaged with five targets and 60 pasters and the 12-inch sight-in targets include five targets and 55 pasters.

Shoot-N-C White/Black Targets

Shoot-N-C White/Black Targets

For this year, Birchwood Casey has added a new color to their Shoot-N-C reactive target line. The white/black targets are excellent for indoor ranges and for low-light shooting situations. The bullet impact leaves a black “halo” so you can easily see your shot from a lot of different distances. Reticle crosshairs and open sights equally show up well on the white over black target. For extra aiming points or for repairs to extend the life of your target the Shoot-N-C White/Black targets include free repair pasters. The Shoot-N-C White/Black targets come in 8-inch bullseye, 12-inch bullseye, and 12- by 18-inch silhouettes.

Dirty Bird Game Targets

I am just as excited about the Dirty Bird game targets as I was about the Darkotic targets when they were first released. Sure, I love to be accurate with my gun, but sometimes I just want to shoot for the pure fun of it and these Dirty Bird game targets from Birchwood Casey are designed just for that. Like Birchwood Casey’s other Dirty Bird targets, the game targets will instantly display a “halo” upon bullet’s impact. The game targets are available in “Battle at Sea” (I sunk your battleship!), “Shotboard,” “Saloon Shootout” (no drinking involved), and “Chip Shot” (for the shooting range, not the driving range.) All game targets measure 12 by 18 inches and come eight per package.
