2012 SHOT Show Special Report: TimberSmith AK Furniture

TimberSmith Furniture

We’ve been carrying TimberSmith AK furniture for awhile under the TAPCO brand. I’m guessing TAPCO got tired of being labeled as the guys who just put AR-15 stocks on everything and decided to show that they love the classic looks of a Kalashnikov just as much as the purists among us. If your AK’s wood is chipped, scratched and nasty, or if yours came with a wrecked plastic stock and half-melted forend, you can rescue it with these gorgeous wood stocks from Timber Smith. They fit all the stamped receiver guns except you guys who built your own on the old 1.6mm Armory USA receivers (in which case, grab a hand file and after about 10 minutes you should be just fine too). The stocks look just like the one pictured with no further work needed. No staining, no clear coating, no rubbing boiled linseed oil on it forever. You open up the box and the furniture looks this good. We only took a photo of the red laminate but they also make an American hardwood, a brown laminate, and a black laminate that I think looks awesome and I’m considering buying for myself. Maybe next paycheck?
