2012 SHOT Show Special Report: Primary Weapons Systems Wraith

Primary Weapons Systems brought their new Wraith 3-gun rifle to the 2012 SHOT Show and wow, it’s exotic. PWS used the best parts they can make along with the best parts they can acquire from others. BCM made the charging handle and Daniel Defense made the modular freefloat forend. JP Enterprises supplies the fire control group; Magpul supplies the PRS stock and grip. PWS uses their top-of-the-line enhanced bolt carrier group to back up one of the coolest barrels I’ve ever heard of. That barrel is stainless steel, button rifled, with an eighth-inch twist rate, and is Isonite QPQ treated (similar to melonite or nitriding) for hardness and corrosion resistance. Then that state-of-the-art barrel is covered with a carbon fiber tensioning sleeve to enhance accuracy by reducing barrel whip, and capped off with a PWS FSC556 combination muzzle brake and flash hider. The price for what might be the ultimate competition AR-15 right now? A cool two grand, friends.
