Happy Veterans Day—Honoring Those Who Took the Oath

American pride still exists! Perhaps as much as it did in the past, perhaps it is somewhat waning under our current political climate. However, this is not a day for political punditry. Instead, it is a day to honor the 21 million living U.S. veterans who either served or are currently keeping the wolf from America’s doors.


Memorial Day — Thank a Gold Star Family

All gave some, and some gave all. A lot has been made of “whom” you should thank on Memorial Day. Personally, I have no problem thanking a veteran 366 days a year. Even if it only comes once every four years during a leap year, I do not want to miss a day. That being said, I do not confuse Memorial Day with Veteran’s Day.

The Eleventh Hour, of the Eleventh Day, of the Eleventh Month…

The Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month–that was when the armistice ending the hostilities of World War I was signed. Although the Treaty of Versailles would not be signed for many more months, we still recognize 11/11 as the day to honor all those served before WWI, during WWI and although it was believed to be the war end all wars, those who would later serve.
