I am not a collector but an accumulator. A collector owns a collection of firearms with the many models carefully cataloged. Some are more common and others, and the key pieces are often quite rare. My firearms are what interests me. The only ones represented in numbers are Colt 1911 pistols and Smith and Wesson revolvers.
Remington is (was perhaps) one of the most revered firearms manufacturers in the America. Known as “Big Green,” Remington has sadly become Big Red, sinking into massive debt. Although it was widely reported that Remington was having significant financial difficulties, it is still sad news to read that Remington has filed for bankruptcy.
2017 saw its share of new guns, as well as overstocked shelves before the election of President Trump. Looking back, there are still plenty of new 2017 models to check out or to slip under the tree or ring in the New Year.
Does anybody buy brand name anything anymore? I don’t know about you, but I haven’t bought an actual bottle of Heinz ketchup since I found out that the “great value” store brand is literally packaged in the same facility. The analgesics in my medicine cabinet read ibuprofen and acetaminophen rather than Advil or Tylenol. So, the question is, why not guns?
