We caught up with Pete Brown and Chad Adams from 3-Gun Nation at the 2011 SHOT Show and had the chance to discuss the history of the 3-Gun Nation and gain an insight into some of the events they’ve got going on. The 2010 season is finished up and they are getting ready to kick off the 2011 season at Superstition Mountain 3-Gun match this March.

Following up on our interview with Kelly Bachand, we tracked down Brad Engmann and asked him if he could sit down and talk with us
Kelly Bachand is young, still in his early 20s, but he’s made quite a name for himself as a long range rifle shooter.
It’s hard to miss his big cowboy hat and wide grin. Denny Chapman is quite the character, and if you hadn’t heard of him before now, you’ve probably seen him on the new reality TV show “Top Shot” on the History Channel.
Denny was kind enough to take a few minutes out of his day to talk to us about his background in the shooting sports and how he came upon the cowboy mounted shooting sports.
Dave Sevigny is well known as one of the best shooters on the Steel Challenge, GSSF, and IDPA circuits. His speed is incredible, and his smooth, flawless transitions unparalleled. He developed his competitive spirit playing hockey as a child growing up in the Northeast. Given his skill on the ice, it’s no surprise that the quick reflexes and fancy footwork he gained there have helped him rise to become a 5 division Grand Master in the USPSA.
Caleb Giddings is a well known IDPA and USPSA shooter, and has made a name for himself with his performances shooting Enhanced Service Revolver in IDPA competition. He also runs a blog at Gun Nuts Media, and hosts a weekly podcast that is regularly downloaded by over 50,000 iTunes users. Recently he’s appeared as a contestant on the History Channel’s new show Top Shot. We had the chance to catch up with Caleb Giddings and sit down for an interview to discuss how he first got involved in competitive pistol shooting and gain some insights into practicing and training for IDPA and IPSC competitions.

She’s only 13 years old, but she’s one of the fastest shooters on the circuit. I first ran into “Millisecond Molly” at the annual Gun Blogger Rendezvous in Reno Nevada where we had a small Steel Challenge match. To say this young woman is fast would be an understatement: she blew us all away! When she finished shooting the first stage, “Smoke and Hope” I’m pretty sure every competitor there was speechless. We just couldn’t believe how fast she was! Molly Smith may be the youngest shooter on Team Smith & Wesson, but she’s no slouch. She easily holds her own in Ladies class competition against the likes of Julie Golob, Kay Miculek, and Annette Aysen.
20 years ago, Darren Newsom made himself a promise. By 2008, he would own his own business. The years came and went, and when 2008 arrived, Darren made the obvious decision to continue his work in an industry he’d spent more than two decades in: small arms ammunition. In 2008, Darren Newsom started up Bitterroot Valley Ammunition & Components, better known as BVAC. His timing couldn’t have been better. Nestled in a valley just south of Missoula amidst the mountains of Western Montana, BVAC began their mission to provide high quality and low priced ammunition and components to shooters and manufacturers alike.
I had the opportunity recently to sit down with Blackdog Machine LLC owner Kevin Rich and discuss the history of his little company, as well as get a sneak peek at some exciting products coming out soon. If the name Blackdog doesn’t sound familiar to you, it should. Blackdog is well known as the industry standard for magazines for .22 conversion AR rifles.
Finally got back and caught up from the 4th annual Gun Blogger Rendezvous in Reno NV, and I have to say, it was a fantastic event. Cheaper Than Dirt! regularly sends reps to various industry shows and conventions, so it’s only natural that we would send a rep to the largest gathering of firearm industry bloggers in the world. Cheaper Than Dirt! is pleased to be able to use this opportunity to reach out to other enthusiasts of the shooting sports, as well as to further enhance the community we are creating with our forums and blog for all fans and participants of various shooting sports.
