For those who may never have heard of the SHOT Show (Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade) it is the largest gun show in the world. Unfortunately, because it is a trade show, it is not open to the public. That does not mean you will not have a front row seat at The Shooter’s Log. We have been busy running from booth to booth to discover what’s new in Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Airguns, Accessories, and Optics. Be sure to check back each day as we add to the new products coverage and feel free to leave us a message in the comments section if there is something or someone you would like us to check out for you!
The Delta is a polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol that has capacity, specs, and dimensions very close to the Glock 19. This is a smart move by Arex, as the Glock 19 has a profile with a broad appeal and is one of the most popular handguns of all time. While it took manufacturers such as Ruger (Security-9) and S&W (M&P Compact 2.0) years to introduce a mid-size model to compete directly with the 19, Arex is getting down to business immediately.
The price further shows that Arex is going to compete: MSRP should be $450 when the gun is introduced. The U.S. market will primarily see safety-free models, but the pictures show that manual safety models will also be available. The safety cutouts will be on the safety-free gun regardless, so this may even be something that a department armorer or gunsmith could possibly add easily via a drop-in lever.

Escort Dynamax Revolutionizes Operating System
The Dynamax is outfitted with Escort’s ultramodern, patented Hybrid Cycling System (HCS). It combines the best features from each of the two traditional cycling operating systems, gas and kinetic. The Dynamax will cycle light loads like a traditional gas system but uses much less gas. As a result, recoil is reduced, and the cycle rate is faster and more efficient. With less felt recoil, a shooter acquires targets faster, making follow up shots more effective. Using less gas to cycle the gun also means the Dynamax does not have to be cleaned as frequently. The HCS is easy to break down, making maintenance easier than ever.

HatsanUSA, Inc. Revamps the Popular Nova Platform
The Nova Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) rifle platform gets a serious upgrade in 2019. Introducing the new NovaStar, an all-new design of a Hatsan favorite that weighs less and features more than its predecessor.
The biggest of the enhancements is the use of Hatsan’s Roto Index Magazine system. The Roto Index Magazine is caliber specific, detachable, and holds up to 14 shots. Hatsan also includes a single-shot tray to accompany long-range precision shooting. The Nova is available in .177, .22, and .25 caliber.

In addition, the adjustable rubber butt pad can be tailored to provide shooters ultimate comfort and a custom feel.

When it comes to scope, some people prefer first (front) focal planes, others like second (rear) focal planes. If you know what that means great!. If not, generally speaking, rear focal planes are popular for those wanting a super-easy to see, consistently-sized reticle. Front focal plane offerings are often favored by people wanting a more precise aiming option. Those who often dial in the scope to eek every drop of accuracy from every shooting session etc. Of course, you may just be tactically oriented and want the fast acquisition advantages of a red dot. Whichever you choose, optic manufacturers have no shortage of new offerings for 2019.
