Missouri Makes Gun Rights a Constitutional Issue

By Dave Dolbee published on in News

Missouri is leading the charge and 49 more states need to hurry and follow in the Show Me state’s footsteps. Missourians are making defenders of the Second Amendment proud with an overwhelming vote of 61 to 39 percent declaring firearm ownership an “unalienable right!”

Become a friend of the NRA and support gun rights in your state!

This happened with the passage of Missouri Senate Joint Resolution 36, which sets a new standard and strengthens the Right to Keep and Bear Arms via the state’s constitution. Every great victory needs a villain and this one is all too familiar. Missouri-based anti-gunners funded by none other than Michael Bloomberg opposed Resolution 36. The group unsuccessfully sought to kill the ballot before it reached vote thereby failing to squash the voice of the people.

“The people of Missouri have sent a clear, strong message that they will not allow anti-gun activists to trample on their Right to Keep and Bear Arms,” said Chris W. Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action.

“This amendment is the gold standard for the protection of the individual right to Keep and Bear Arms. In the face of unprecedented threats from billionaire Michael Bloomberg and his network of anti-gun groups across the country, Americans are fighting back to protect their rights. I applaud the people of Missouri and call on all Americans to support similar efforts in their states. On behalf of the NRA’s five million members, I thank the ballot’s sponsors, Senator Kurt Schaefer, Majority Leader Ron Richard, Speaker-elect John Diehl and members of the Missouri General Assembly who supported this measure. Across the country, gun rights supporters are taking note of their leadership on this critical issue,” added Cox.

Resolution 36 requires any gun-control restrictions to be subject to the highest level of scrutiny, which is great news for the citizens of Missouri and shows the importance of the NRA and other gun rights organizations. However, Bloomberg and gun grabbers are far from finished. They only have to win once and we will lose our rights, so stand up for the Second Amendment in your state and support an effort to make the Right to Keep and Bear Arms a constitutionally protected right in your state.

Bloombag is an elitist billionaire that has lost touch with reality and thinks he can dictate to us 2A peasants his wants and wishes. He has pledged to use 50 million of his own money to bring down the 2nd A and is the funding behind groups like Moms Demand Action and Every Town Against Guns and Mayors for Gun Control. Pass it on and don’t forget to donate to your favorite pro gun organization. This ass must be stopped.

It is the ultimate tragedy that we have now reached a point in history where the U.S. Constitution has been reduced to such insignificance and its sworn defense so utterly violated by the Office of this President that individual states must now amend their own constitutions in order to preserve even the faintest of echoes for our inalienable rights that this great document once served to protect.

This truly signifies the death of the U.S. Constitution, and with it, the dissolution of our Union. Our Nation should be in mourning.

All Too True. Alas I am too old to be around when our once great nation ceases to exist. Our children, grandchildren etc. Will pay for the stupidity of our government and the liberal population wanting more of the same. The generations that have payed for our freedom and liberties with blood are slowly being replaced with generations of brain washed citizens and brain dead politicians. The words of a true patriot come to mind…Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather, what you can do for your country. I Am Ashamed.

Larry: We have two problems here. Is our country going to collapse? We may not be too old to see it happen. I would have agreed with you a few years ago, not in our time, but not any longer.

I started teaching high school in ’79 and I saw the first of the, “hell no I won’t go” generation’s kids; they had rights, no discipline and they were crippled from the start; hopeless. Since then we’ve turned out a couple of generations who know nothing about firearms, firearm safety or self defense. That translates to frightened little people who can’t or won’t take responsibility for what’s happening to our country and have been duped into thinking that they can protect themselves with a cell phone.

The second problem is: which gun rights group do I want to become associated with? The only one that was making any noise, and still is, in southern California that I know of is the NRA. I’ve been a member for a while but unfortunately at Riverside, California their reception has always been very cool. For a long time I thought it was me. I joined because of my interest in protecting our second amendment rights and to hopefully associate with like minded people. The Riverside group is very cliquish and they’ve made no effort to include new members. Talking to a number of long time members I’ve found that they’ve always been that way and they aren’t likely to change. What other groups do we have to choose from? I think everywhere else but in Missouri the fight is just starting.

You are absolutely correct Hank. The demise of this once great nation could happen sooner rather than later. But, there is still just over 50% of the population not on some level of government assistance. I have absolutely no doubt the current administration knew of and allowed the Mexican government to breech our southern boarder. I also believe the current administration’s “Agenda is behind it.
Obama is a student of Saul Alinsky. He is often noted for his book: Rules For Radicals, published in 1971. In that book Saul writers…
“How to Create a Social State”
“There are eight levels of control necessary to create a Socialist State…
1)Health Care: Control Health Care and You Control the People.
2)Poverty: Increase the Poverty Level as High as Possible. Poor People are Easier to Control and Will Not Fight Back if the Government is Providing Everything for Them to Live.
3)Debt: Increase the Debt to an Unsustainable Level. Increase Taxes Producing More Poverty.
4)Gun Control: Remove the Ability of the People to Defend Themselves From the Government.
5)Welfare: Take Control of Every Aspect of the Peoples Lives…Food, Housing, Income…etc.
6)Education: Take Control of what the People Read and Listen to. Take Control of what Children Learn at School.
      7) Religion: Remove the Belief in the God from the Government and Schools.
8)Class Welfare: Divide the People Into the Wealthy and the Poor.
I know this is a repost, but no less valid in this conversation.
What “Pro Constitution” group should anyone belong to. That is a question for the ages. Tell me which one will survive in a “Police State” under “Marshall Law” when the Constitution is “Officially” suspended and I will join today.
Refer to the University of Hawaii, Domocide Web page… From 1900-1999 conservative estimates indicate More Than 260 Million unarmed and government disarmed citizens have been Slaughtered by their own governments…
Example: Hitler murdered approximately 26 million.
      China murdered over 90 million.
      USSR murdered over 60 million…etc.
How many will our government murder??
SORRY for the rant, I’m just frustrated and pissed.

Hank, NRA is more than just those who show up for the dinner, which is just a fundraiser anyways, so don’t be turned off. Gun Owners of America call themselves the only no-compromise group at gunowners(dot)org. also check out Second Amendment Foundation saf(dot)org and California Rifle and Pistol Association crpa(dot)org.

Louisiana passed the law like Missouri did a year or two ago. It is also an amendment to our state constitution.

It’s also in Mississippi’s Constitution which allows open carry and concealed carry with a permit.

With all the infringement of our constitutional right the last few years, we as a state felt it was recessary to remind all on our state representatives as well as our governor that we strongly believe in our constitutional rights. We are making headway on insuring we keep our rights.
If any of you want to help us, we would welcome you to the fight and bring the family.
