Quick Hunting Tip: 3 Tips for Quieter Hunting Gear

Quick Hunting Tips from Cheaper Than Dirt!Sometimes during the hustle and bustle of trying to get ready for a hunt we overlook some of the tiniest details. It never fails these are the things that will drive you crazy and possibly even wreck your hunt.

One such thing is noisy swivels on gun slings or bow slings. Or even a noisy seat bracket on your treestand seat or perhaps even an ear-piercing creaking noise on one of your straps on your backpack. The truth is, if you can hear these noises, so can the game you are pursuing so here are three quick-in-a-pinch-fixes to help silence the rattle on some metal items. Tube of Gunslick Graphite Lube

Obviously carrying a small tube of a non-toxic gun lube such as the Gunslick Graphite Gun Lube will help. However, if you do not have a tube of lube within reach you can use a dab of my favorite lip balm instead. One brand that I always carry with me is Hunter Specialties Lip Balm. This stuff works great on keeping your lips protected from elements but it also serves double duty to help quiet a loose screw or a variety of other metal on metal annoying sounds.

Finally, if you do not have lube or lip balm available you can always rub your index finger along the outside of your nose to pick up traces of oil from your skin and then apply it to the area in need of a little lubrication. You may have to do this several times but even the tiniest bit of oil from your skin can help quiet the annoying noise metal can make.
