Six Safety Tips for Women

I have good news! Crime rates are dropping across the country. Women are less likely to be victims of crime and the numbers of reported rapes are decreasing. However, women report feeling higher levels of fear of crime than men do, even though young men are more likely to be victims of crime than women are.

This safe has given excellent service. The dial pad requires that the batteries be changed occasionally, otherwise the safe has been trouble free.

Choosing a Gun Safe

When I was a young man, the average living room or den featured a wooden gun cabinet, the stores had racks and safes were unheard of. That quickly changed, and today it would be foolish indeed to rely on a gun cabinet. There is little security. In fact, gun cabinets are not really secure, even from children.

Box of CCI Velocitor Ammunition

Match-Grade .22 Ammunition

Among the most enjoyable of all calibers to shoot is the .22 Long Rifle. Accurate and devoid of recoil, the .22 is the best fun caliber. The subject of match-grade .22 comes up often, which inevitably leads to the question, “Is it worth it?” In short, it certainly is.

Quick Prepper Tips from Cheaper Than Dirt! They come in a variety of sizes. Some are heavy-duty construction grade while others barely strong enough to mess with. The most common color is black and some have handles, grips and even convenient drawstrings. There are over a trillion sold every year and a staggering 1 million of them are used every minute. What am I talking about?

Bring it! Bloomberg Attempts to Fight Fire with Fire

Planning to use the same grassroots tactics as the NRA by encouraging voters and funding political campaigns, New York’s former mayor, Michael Bloomberg recently rebranded his anti-gun group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, as Everytown for Gun Safety after bringing aboard paranoid Shannon Watt’s group, Mom’s Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

Quick Camping Tips: Five Essential Survival Items

Cheaper Than Dirt! Quick Camping TipYou planned, organized, created lists and prepared all your meals. After checking everything and getting it all packed, you feel confident you have everything you need for your camping trip. However, you might not have thought about these five essential survival items to take with you, just in case.

Rock Island Armory’s Latest .45, the Tactical II

I have enjoyed good service with the Rock Island brand of 1911 handguns. The pistols are true to the original format and fire the authoritative.45 ACP cartridge. Armscor manufactures these handguns in the Philippine Islands. The original pistols were straight-up GI versions of the 1911, although there are also elevated examples with good features, including tactical-grade sights and improved grips.

The Adversary — A Disturbing Look Into the Criminal Mind

In my first article, I covered some basics on concealed carry and practical defense. This second part in the series shows the illicit intentness of the adversary with a disturbing look into the criminal mind. —Bob Campbell

The training you receive is important, and the people you meet in gun-handling classes are often among the most friendly and interesting in the world. Many have similar interests that cross all racial, gender, cultural and social boundaries, which is as it should be. The classes you take will be a positive experience.

British Soldier Wearing Osprey MK4 Armor Carrier

The Real Deal: A True British Operator’s Modular Osprey MK4 Body Armor Carrier

Thankfully arriving pre-assembled for “complete fighting order,” the Osprey MK4 body armor vest set is a smoking deal. It includes nine MOLLE pouches, which alone is worth the price of the entire rig. Inside the package is the vest, seven magazine pouches, two grenade pouches, a two-piece OPS panel including T-bar fittings, waistbands, pair of cummerbunds, shoulder guards, brassards, four-piece collar system, blanking panels, and ancillaries—17 pieces of varying sizes of MOLLE straps with Velcro, snaps and plastic buckles.

You should think carefully about the reasons for choosing a handgun. I do my best to test and review appropriate defensive handguns. And although the pistols may not be your choices, they are reasonable choices. With the explosion of concealed carry permits, many are carrying pocket pistols that give them more comfort than performance.

Miss Kansas

Miss Kansas Receives Death Threats for Hunting

I attend a great deal of both outdoor trade shows and consumer shows over the course of a given year, with many of them concentrated between January and April. Recently, I attended the annual Shot Show in Las Vegas, the National Rifle Association great outdoors show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the 2014 Pheasant Fest in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I was fortunate at each of these events to meet with numerous hunters, outdoorsmen and women and discuss some of the issues of today facing today’s hunters.

Restrictive, Cumbersome Gun Laws Burden Law-Abiding Citizens

Restrictive and cumbersome gun regulations in some states may make non-offenders feel like common criminals. States, such as California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Illinois, are prime examples of places where strict gun laws put into place by state-elected officials make obtaining guns legally harder than ever. Loose interpretation of the laws that govern firearms has ignited much debate.

The Importance of Prepping: Forecasters Are Predicting a Bad El Nino This Year

On March 6, 2014, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued an El Nino watch for the spring and summer of 2014. Named after the baby Jesus by South American fisherman from the coasts of Peru and Ecuador, El Nino is the warming of the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and the western coast of South America in an area called Nino3.4. This warm water changes wind patterns, in turn affecting global weather. Moreover, this time around meteorologist and scientists are expecting a “doozy.”

Jerry is at it again, this time using two Smith & Wesson M&P9 pistols to take out two separate randomly generated moving targets (targabots) at one time! Luckily for Jerry, he has a pistol for each hand—right- and left-handed M&P Pro pistols. With two-fisted shooting, watch Jerry take out these dastardly targabots provided by targamite.

New Budget Proposes Almost $1.5 Billion to Protect You from Gun Violence

President Obama wants to protect you from gun violence.

Just reading that, you know this cannot be good. In his latest budget request, Obama requested $1.1 billion for gun control and “to protect Americans from gun violence.” But the assault on our Second Amendment rights will not stop there. Adding fuel to the gun control fire, the Department of Justice (DOJ) asked for an additional 382.1 million for gun control.
